A Valkyrie has three modes, three transformations. The love triangle. Three people, three relationships. Zentradi, Vajra, Protodeviln. Three major antagonists. Three is clearly important, not just to Macross Δ, but to the franchise as a whole. And then there's Robotech. Three unrelated series, three edit lists to combine them. In light of this, I think it's clear that the Δ can only mean one thing. The new show is about the SDF-3. Macross Δ: The Sentinels. Callin' it now. (And then there's me. BS, ???, Profit. There is nothing on the few images released so far that hint or suggest at how we're supposed to read it. It could very well be "Macross Triangle", or even something bizarre as "Macross Turn Triangle" (a la "Gundam Turn A". As much as I'd like to throw my support into the "it's a Greek letter" camp (as Kawamori-san has a penchant for appending Greek letters to enemy Valkyries), I'm inclined to opt for the "it's a stylized triangle", because love triangles are one of the core themes of Macross, and the hero Valkyries get Roman letters, not Greek ones! You likely have a point there. From a story standpoint, it could use triangles as a theme. Rainbow music beams were enough for one lifetime, adding time travel portals would be pushing even that! Unless BW is targeting a demographic younger than 12 this time... One thing I really hope BW has learned that if they add English subs / dubs to their disc releases, they will sell more copies internationally!
