Tochiro Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Trailer for the upcoming Macross Delta TV special on Dec 31. (Ooh, a new song!) http://macross.jp/movie/
wmkjr Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) 02 Valk's head? I thought it would have a double laser head. Triple laser then. Edit: Reminds me more like the YF-29 Alto head. Edited December 4, 2015 by wmkjr
VF-15 Banshee Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Hmm, that's either a different type of head unit for the 31 or it's the head for the Draken III
wmkjr Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 (edited) To me the head shape follows along the lines of 02 Valk (Black/blue with the reaper logo) in the poster. That would be pretty cool if it's the Draken's head. Maybe the "horn" slips into the cockpit area. Edited December 4, 2015 by wmkjr
cyde01 Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 01's paint scheme looks great in that low light shot, but i don't like it very much in the poster.
Einherjar Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I think the Zentradi are the major good guy faction this time. The 31's color scheme looks similar to a Regult.
Gubaba Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 I just want to hear the full song. The snippet in the video sounds really good.
Vepariga Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Even though I am still warming to the character designs, I am REALLY looking forward to those Valk battles. They look to be amazing.
seti88 Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 Gerwalkin'. image.png Does it look like the red vf-31 ditched the wrist guns or are they retracted somehow? Cant wait to find out!
Tochiro Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 (edited) The gun tonfa are retractable, as was shown in the initial reveal of the design on the Delta announcement stream :-) Edited December 5, 2015 by Tochiro
seti88 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 (edited) Ah yes, missed the left arm visual on the vf-31 introduction slide! It looks more of a swing back rather than a retraction though, from the looks of the tonfa facing back to the shoulders... Edited December 6, 2015 by seti88
Tochiro Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Technically it is supposed to 'fold' from memory. Either way, the point is that it's not permanently extended. Kawamori and Tenjin explicitly pointed this out too, so it's pretty much confirmed :-)
VF5SS Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Giant robots with tonfas are cool. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. "ROLLLLLLLLLLLING START!!"
seti88 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 tonfa's are normally made for duelling, wonder if there would be beam tonfa's! ..that would be cool too.. Either way, cant wait to see em in action flipping out and gunning punisher/john woo style!
areaseven Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rYsDrrmnLI WARNING: May not be available in all areas.
VF-15 Banshee Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Nope, not available... In any case, the new song is called Ikenai Borderline, eh? Maybe a slight reference to Sharon Apple?
UN Spacy Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 UGH...can anyone see the video? Silly Big West...making your Delta video's region specific...but not your Frontier ones.
no3Ljm Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0rYsDrrmnLI WARNING: May not be available in all areas. I thought it was the new song. It was the last streamed conference. Too bad there was no 720p+ upload. Trailer for the upcoming Macross Delta TV special on Dec 31. (Ooh, a new song!) http://macross.jp/movie/ Ooh. Giri-Giri... 02 Valk's head? I thought it would have a double laser head. Triple laser then. Edit: Reminds me more like the YF-29 Alto head. Screenshot (4).png Looks like it came out from Armored Core. I can see why they picked her. She's got my thumbs up. (y) (check the link to hear Minori Suzuki singing Do You Remember Love) Cute. Like it. Edited December 7, 2015 by no3ljm
Marzan Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Thanks for posting the video. Would have been hard to find for non-Japanese reader like me. It seems to me that the genki girl might be the MC this time around? Her seeiyu really got the front, right and center presentation. Kawamori has to be the youngest looking 55 year old in the planet.
eight_car Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Trailer for the upcoming Macross Delta TV special on Dec 31. (Ooh, a new song!) http://macross.jp/movie/ Have a link that the maggot infested vile bastards of Harmony Gold don't have blocked?
mickyg Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Thanks for posting the video. Would have been hard to find for non-Japanese reader like me. It seems to me that the genki girl might be the MC this time around? Her seeiyu really got the front, right and center presentation. Kawamori has to be the youngest looking 55 year old in the planet. He's 55? Really? That means he was working on Macross in his very early 20s! Wow, that's some serious talent at a very young age if that's correct.
Tochiro Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yes, it's correct. The man was born in 1960. You weren't aware of how young he was when he started?
antibiotictab Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 He's 55? Really? That means he was working on Macross in his very early 20s! Wow, that's some serious talent at a very young age if that's correct. Both Kawamori-san and Mikimoto-san were the classmates of Keio High. They sometimes visited Studio Nue then. And after that, they had come to worked there when they became the students of Keio Univ. I told this story a few times to a few non-Japanese people and many fans outside of Japan may not know it. The most expensive money bill in Japan is 10,000 yen. The person printed on the bill is Yukichi Fukuzawa and was the founder of Keio schools. So that, the fact make you understand how intelligent and talented they are.
no3Ljm Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Here's the TVCM with the "Giri-Giri" song in the background. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWC-FmK8vhI

mickyg Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Nope, Tochiro, I was not at all. I'm surprised I hadn't thought about it too. Since I'm very interested in his works, obviously. Antibiotictab, thanks for the story as well. Also something I did not know. Yes, it's correct. The man was born in 1960. You weren't aware of how young he was when he started?
Valkyrie addict Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Wow, very very interesting, I was not aware of that Antibiotictab. Thanks!!
Renato Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 He's 55? Really? That means he was working on Macross in his very early 20s! Wow, that's some serious talent at a very young age if that's correct. He was designing your Optimus Primes and Diaclone Robot Bases, etc. at around 18. And what have I done.

Antibiotictab, thanks for the story as well. Also something I did not know. Fair enough.
