Raptor One Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Oh nice. I was wondering if they would do more of these Quote
Mommar Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 My problem with this whole argument is that except for Ultron, which was Tony Stark's fault, everything else can be explained as either Hydra or SHIELD problems that Cap and/or the Avengers have had to clean up. Quote
Sandman Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I still don't buy Tony being on the pro-government side. he's always been a rebel to the system. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I still don't buy Tony being on the pro-government side. he's always been a rebel to the system. Not always. Remember he started off as a weapon's manufacturer for the US government and yep, I know that ended in Iron Man. A rebel or maverick in his own right, yes, but anti-system, not necessarily. They could play this up as just a continuation of the side-effects from what the Scarlet Witch did to his mind in the beginning of Avengers AoU or there could be some other catalyst that would make Tony pro-control/registration in the Movie verse, just like he was in the comics. -b. EXO Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Will the next "Avengers" movie be redundant, then? This is pretty much how comic books are. Characters interacting with each other in the same universe with the story centering on the title character/s and the current adversary or adversaries. It's amazing it took them that long to figure out. Quote

It's amazing it took them that long to figure out. It's not really a matter of figuring it out. Marvel used to report to Perlmutter who was a notorious pennypincher. Now that Marvel's budget is determined by someone at Disney who is looser with the strings they can negotiate to pay their other principle actors to come in on projects. EXO Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 I'm talking about of stand alone universes. DC could have been first with George Miller's Justice League. But that's besides the point though. I'm talking about the way these movies are working now is the way it's been done in comic books pages for ages. With different characters walking in and out of each other's books. Quote
sh9000 Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 10 more days until Captain America Civil War and 31 more days until X-Men Apocalypse. Damn, May is going to be an awesome month! Quote

Mommar Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Note Spider-Man's strength there. Stopped Bucky's swing cold like it was nothing, enough Bucky looks genuinely surprised. Quote
hutch Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Which is completely consistent with the Comics. Spider-man is very strong. Note Spider-Man's strength there. Stopped Bucky's swing cold like it was nothing, enough Bucky looks genuinely surprised. Quote
areaseven Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) Vibranium obviously doesn't exist in the real world, but titanium does its job in blocking gunshots. It's just a question of how much this shield costs. For comparison, here's a DIY version you can do at home. Also, this... EDIT: The Man at Arms version is a POS. areaseven Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 (edited) This is the Avengers sequel we should've gotten instead of Age of Ultron. Captain America: Civil War is yet another example by the Russo Brothers on how to properly do a superhero film. The storyline is completely engaging from beginning to end. Everyone from both sides of the Avengers plays a vital role and not just Cap and Iron Man. Perhaps the one that really stands out is Black Panther. Now we all know how badass Wakandan Arts can get. As for Spider-Man, this is, without a doubt, the best live-action incarnation ever. And for once, he has a New York accent - don't know if it's supposed to be a Queens accent, but we can now truly identify him as a New Yorker. Captain America: "You've got heart, kid. Where are you from?" Spider-Man: "Queens." Captain America: "Brooklyn." As with every other Marvel film, the film's weakness is the villain; this time, he's almost non-existent. There is so much focused on the conflict between Cap and Iron Man's factions that the "villain" is almost unnecessary in the storyline. In short, Captain America: Civil War is the new benchmark for superhero films this year. Will X-Men: Apocalypse or Doctor Strange be as good? And will DC rebound from their losses from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with Suicide Squad? Only time will tell. In the meantime, here's how I rank this film: Marvel Cinematic Universe 1. The Avengers 2. Iron Man 3. Captain America: Civil War 4. Guardians of the Galaxy 5. Captain America: The First Avenger 6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 7. Ant-Man 8. Avengers: Age of Ultron 9. Thor 10. Iron Man 3 11. The Incredible Hulk 12. Thor: The Dark World 13. Iron Man 2 All Marvel Films (Including Icon Comics) 1. The Avengers 2. Iron Man 3. Captain America: Civil War 4. Guardians of the Galaxy 5. Kingsman: The Secret Service 6. Deadpool 7. X-Men: Days of Future Past 8. Captain America: The First Avenger 9. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 10. X-Men: First Class 11. Ant-Man 12. Avengers: Age of Ultron 13. Men in Black 14. The Amazing Spider-Man 15. The Wolverine 16. Kick-Ass 17. Thor 18. Spider-Man 2 19. X2 20. Iron Man 3 21. Blade 22. Mommar Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 Which is completely consistent with the Comics. Spider-man is very strong. Sometimes they seem to downplay his strength compared to other marvel characters in a lot of media. Quote
