Pat S Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Hi, I'm moving to a new city about 300 miles away in a couple of months. As I was packing away some of my toys I looked at my 2 detolf displays and it occurred to me that I'm not sure how to move them. Should I disassemble them and lay all the glass on top of each other, or can they survive a ride in a big truck standing up? Thanks for the help! Quote
Benson13 Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Is it possible to put them in a car something else? I'd pack them between mattresses upright with lots of blankets. Quote
akteon Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Last time I moved (thought it was only a few miles) I fully disassembled them then took the glass panels and shelves and put cardboard between them then did basically what Benson mentioned with couch cushions and mattresses. Quote
EXO Posted September 7, 2014 Posted September 7, 2014 Yup... took it apart. Put the glass together and taped around it. And sandwiched it betwwen other flat shelving panels. I had moving blankets so I wrapped it around the glass as cushions. Quote
Pat S Posted September 7, 2014 Author Posted September 7, 2014 Thanks for the replies, that's what I'll do, take the glass out, lay it together on a flat surface (sandwiched if I can). Quote
