otihconip Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fg-site.net%2Farchives%2Fpost_old%2F146544&h=3AQEkeXcP&s=1 OK, I couldn't help myself, just saw this on MW main page for FB but don't see anything about this in the forums. WHO is this awesomely crazy person that built this and where can we track him down? Is he part of MW? Can we get him to post some more info on this insane build, I don't think I have ever seen this much detail on a 1/72 valk!!!!! I honestly thought it was a 1/48 only to be even more amazed that it actually was 1/72. Are there any other builds like this?!!! WM Cheng where have you been dude? Quote
miriya Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 my computer did not like that link. Can you post the image here directly? Quote
EXO Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Vincent Pang actually reminded me that I had this set in my data banks... some guy on FB linked the builder's blog http://www.fg-site.net/archives/post_old/146544 Are there any other builds like this?!!! WM Cheng where have you been dude? You have to dig thru the FB photo stream to find more stuff like this... even William can attest to all the crazy stuff posted on there... https://www.facebook.com/Macrossworld/photos_stream Quote
Knight26 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 That is some serious depot level maintenance, I wonder how many photo-etch kits went into making all those little fiddly bits Quote
PetarB Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 That is simply amazing work. Really quite amazing! I would love to see some higher resolution photos. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Thanks for the pics!!! That VF-1D is amazing Quote
pfunk Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Saw it on the face book page, simply divine. Some high res pics would be sweet, right down to the grating on the platforms. Quote
Zinjo Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 My money would be on a member of the "VF-1 Riders" model club if i were to hazard a guess. They do some phenomenal work... Quote
David Hingtgen Posted August 23, 2014 Posted August 23, 2014 I'm pretty sure there's an F-18 set in there. (F-14 likely sourced as well of course). Quote
ivorysniper Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Holly Mighty Macross God !!!!!!!. Unbelievable !!!!. Quote
Valkyrie2008 Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 This level of detail is insane! That person did use the F/A-18 style boarding ladder. Quote
Andrea Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 What incredible, beautiful work!! I'd like to make a model like that...! Thanks for sharing! Quote
captain america Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Thanks for posting this Exo, this guy has mad skills... And patience! *Bows before serious modeling talent.* Quote
fairchild22 Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 the detail is amazing, only when i am retired i might try and do something, but now time is taken up by way to many things. Quote
cool8or Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 (edited) This kind of builds really inspired me: I really hope to make something like this, someday... At least, I have the kits!! Edit: I just realize that the kit is in 1/72!! I always tought that it was in 1/48! Edited August 30, 2014 by cool8or Quote
EXO Posted August 30, 2014 Posted August 30, 2014 I think the builder's name is Mohirito Nakajima. There was another 1/48 diorama that looked similar to this. Quote
antibiotictab Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I'm pretty sure there's an F-18 set in there. (F-14 likely sourced as well of course). Yes, he wrote he used some etching parts for the F/A-18 released by Fine Molds in the comment field. Quote
