ahiachris Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 There aren't a lot of new stuff at the event this year. Glad that my buyer was able to grab all the items that I am interested in. They are all in 1/72. VF-11MAXL, YF-19 weapon set and Update sets for the WAVE destroids. Reaaly need to squeeze out time to build kits. Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I really wanted the MAXL, but I couldn't bring myself to spend Y23,000 on it... I waited and hoped he would drop the price, but he never did. I ended up walking away with: Sheryl's Shuttle Argenics (the ship from Macross M3) SDF-2 Megaroad (the design from Perfect Memory, not Flashback 2012) VF-1X++ Double Plus conversion kit Arcadia 1/60 VF-1 stand And a few other non-Macross kits I didn't get everything I wanted, but it was still a great show! Kelsain Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Ooh, you mean this SDF-2? I'd love to see pics of that when you get the chance. Quote
coronadlux Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 That's a nice SDF there. Can I see pics of the kit? Quote
505thAirborne Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 That's a nice SDF there. Can I see pics of the kit? +1 Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Oh, fine... It's actually kinda funny, but I didn't notice until last night that it was the TV design! I barely looked at the parts before I got it home, and just assumed that it was the Flashback design. They didn't have a display model of it, and I got the only one that was on their table. I'm guessing that it was left over stock from another event. Quote
505thAirborne Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Very cool kit. You don't see that SDF-2 everyday aside from the books, thank you!! Quote
Kelsain Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Very cool. Any idea what (if any) scale it is ? Quote
neptunesurvey Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Very cool. Any idea what (if any) scale it is ? I would like to know as well. Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 All of the guy's kits seem to be non-scale. But the kit measures about 7 1/8" long, which would put it at about 1/9000, based on the length spec in the design sheet. Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Found a finished pic of the SDF-2 http://astro-mo1.way-nifty.com/photos/uncategorized/2012/05/06/dscf4328_2.jpg Ahiachris, could you post pics of the MAXL's parts? I'd like to see what I missed out on Quote
coronadlux Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Awesome. Thanks for sharing the pics. How's the level of detail? Quote
EXO Posted August 7, 2014 Posted August 7, 2014 Found a finished pic of the SDF-2 http://astro-mo1.way-nifty.com/photos/uncategorized/2012/05/06/dscf4328_2.jpg Ahiachris, could you post pics of the MAXL's parts? Ken... you went to the last MWCon and Wonderfest.... lucky dog! Quote
Mommar Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Oh, fine... It's actually kinda funny, but I didn't notice until last night that it was the TV design! I barely looked at the parts before I got it home, and just assumed that it was the Flashback design. They didn't have a display model of it, and I got the only one that was on their table. I'm guessing that it was left over stock from another event. Oh man, that's cool! I didn't know there were model kits of the SDF-2 from Perfect Memory. Quote
Grayson72 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 What were in the destroid detail parts? Man I'd love get the MAXL Quote

sbantonelli Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 (edited) Does anyone know if there's a way procure the destroid detail kits without going to the show or waiting for them appear on Yahoo Japan? Edited August 8, 2014 by sbantonelli Quote
Grayson72 Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Does anyone know if there's a way procure the destroid detail kits without going to the show or waiting for them appear on Yahoo Japan? I'm wondering the same thing, upgrade sets shouldn't be a Wonderfest only thing. Quote
ahiachris Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 I believe it will not be possible to procure the upgrade kits unless the manufacturer apply for the license directly from the license holder. For the wonderfest event, it was hosted by Kaiyodo. Kaiyodo will be the one responsible to apply license for the people that joined the event. The license will be limited only for that day. Quote
EXO Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I think that one is 1/72. The experten transforming one is the one that's 1/100. Quote
ahiachris Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 Yes, Exo is right. The one I have is 1/72. Link to photos taken by Gerwalk_w picture. Thank you Gerwalk https://www.flickr.com/photos/gerwalk_w/sets/72157645580987959/ Quote
Valkyrie Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Thanks for the pics! I do kinda regret passing it up... But at the same time, I'd expect cleaner casts from a $230 kit. Though they're certainly not terrible. Quote
ahiachris Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 Indeed it is not as detailed when compared to other brands as Reckless Studio. But i won't complain when they are the only source available. Quote
Kicker773 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I have that SDF2...was looking for a reference picture. thanks Quote
PetarB Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I love and hate these Wonderfest threads! On one hand it's great to see what's new - but on the other I grind my teeth at the models I'll never be able to get... Anyway, that MAXL VF-11 looks great. Kind of what I expected Bandai to do all those years ago, instead we got those tiny 1:144 scale kits. Quote
Zinjo Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Found a finished pic of the SDF-2 http://astro-mo1.way-nifty.com/photos/uncategorized/2012/05/06/dscf4328_2.jpg Ahiachris, could you post pics of the MAXL's parts? I'd like to see what I missed out on SDF-2 Megalord finally getting some luvin... YAY! Quote
