1/24/2015: I now offer these stands through my webstore at www.yetistand.com

Hello all,

Hopefully I have not overstayed my welcome, and mods bump this post someplace else if need be. I am posting in the Toys section because YetiStand is about 90% ready to be sold. I have some tolerance issues to look into, but this thing is looking good! Please watch my rambling video and let me know what you think.

Want! The video's not working though bro.

YouTube is still processing. Should be good shortly.

That looks amazing, what do you think your price point going to be?

I am going to take what I have and look at some local places. Perhaps I can get the price down. I don't want to scare anyone away yet.

Nooooo... Youtube is saying video removed because it was too long?

I will not be denied! Uploading new version. Sorry for the delay.

Looking forward to new, shortened version!

That is awesome! I will be looking out for price. that looks like the best stand I've seen. Great work.

What's its stable weight limit? (roughly, I know that the position/angle makes a hug difference)

No issue with any of my Macross stuff so far. Lego X-Wing 9493, and Lego Y-Wing 9495 fit on the printed stand without a problem. They are pretty sizable. I would imagine the solid acrylic stand will hold much more.

Woah. Your alpha (prototype?) stand looks fantastic, ChaoticYeti! Will it come in clear plastic or will there be a choice of colors like for projects available on Shapeways? Also, how easy is it to assemble and adjust?

And I apologize if my questions are answered in the video. I'm still waiting on youtube to view it.

Watch the video! There would be choices in color down the road.

Yeti, I wholeheartedly applaud your work. There is finally purpose to all those useless stand adapters that have come with our valks. Not to mention all the flavor you're adding to our displays because of the dynamic poses that we can now pull off. I'm looking forward to seeing all the crazy poses everyone is going to come up with.

Have you got a VB-6 to test it with? ;)

Thank you. I think it is gonna be great to see what people do with these.

Edit: Video is up! HD should come around soon.

CY: I know you had mentioned before how you were going to make the Yetistand universal for other types of figures you can display with it. Do you have adapters to display with other figs/models other than Macross Bandai/Yamato?

I sure do. I have a 6" figure adapter, and an adapter that works with popular brick building toys like Lego, megablock, etc. And I am working on one for 1/72 diecast planes, but there doesn't seem to be a standard way of mounting them.

The stand is universal. I could model adapters for an eternity.

Awesome that's good to know. I'll be showing this to others that collect other things that would benefit from your stand.

Watching your video on the big screen, and another interested individual watches.... :D

Hilarious.

I approve and Alto approves. He'll will report back to the rest of the squadron, and then send the requisition paperwork to get the stands ordered when they are ready.

I really like your simple but creative way to display Ghosts into the base. :D

Nice, very nice!! It's all I was hoping for, you just need to figure out the tolerances and job's a good 'un.

And I have to say, it'll be nice to give the Japanese Macross collectors something to be envious about for once!! ;)
