spanner Posted October 30, 2016 Posted October 30, 2016 ouchies! sorry to see that happen.. I don't think I've ever seen the neck hinge thing break ever!? either that stuff or the smallest drop of some good quality super glue. Quote
Moosey Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Well, this the first time I had a major breakage on a 1/60 V2 VF-1 in a long time. So will Tamiya extra thin plastic cement be best for fixing this? Sorry dude, same happened to my Max 1A. I used plastic weld to fix it. It's held so far. Quote
SuperHobo Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Sorry dude, same happened to my Max 1A. I used plastic weld to fix it. It's held so far. Interesting, so this breakage has happened on someone else's VF-1 copy. I wonder if the plastic just wasn't molded correctly or maybe it was just poorly handled at the factory. I'll try some glue a friend recommended. Edited October 31, 2016 by SuperHobo Quote
no3Ljm Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 Ouch. Sorry to see that happen, SuperHobo. Good luck on the fix. Let us know the outcome. Quote

Which shop did you guy bought it from? I don't think the Tamiya thin-cement can secure it properly, but you can try. Quote
MAC-X Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Tamiya thin-cement definitely not good enough. Try Plastic Magic from Deluxe Materials. This is a beast for joining plastic of most types. Quote

no3Ljm Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Thanks for the tip, I'll try this if the glue a friend recommended does not work. Just make sure you try it first on some plastic before applying it directly to the figure. Quote
SuperHobo Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 After two attempts of glueing the two halves together, it's holding on the 2nd try. There will be a scar across the neck piece, but at least it's holding. Quote
spanner Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 think of it as battle damage! good job sir! glad you got it sorted! Quote
ChaoticYeti Posted November 6, 2016 Posted November 6, 2016 If you want, I could probably recreate that piece and put it on shapeways. Has anyone else had their neck break like that? Quote
SuperHobo Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 I think the neck piece should be fine....for now. But if it does break again I'll contact you. Quote
