HLJ has the Arcadia 30th Anniversary VF-1J on sale for a little less than $75 if anyone is interested

gee that is cheap! HLJ really dropped their pants with that one! must want to off load the last of their stock!? puts it on par or even cheaper than some of the cheaper used examples I've seen for sale.

I'd buy one if I didn't already have one.. but definitely don't want another.. <_<

Not interested at $75, not interested at $1 . . .

oh come on!! Not even at $1!? ;) I'd buy 100 of em if they were only $1!!! =D

but then again the shipping cost would be astronomical..

Anyone has try to take off all the paint of this valk?

It can be done?

Ahhh yes! For repaints! Excellent idea good sir! This price puts them roughly the same as the non painted versions!

Only downside is their awful tinted canopy..

Ha! If there's something I like of this version it's the tinted canopy.

Nope, still not interested.

On the other hand, I'd definitely get one if it were ridiculously marked down... $1 sounds good to me! I don't think I'd ever want that valk to take up display space, but I wouldn't mind having one on my desk to mess with while I'm taking a break from work... something that I don't mind manhandling or possibly breaking. Or one that I can repaint or mess around with for panel-lining or weathering.

Someone else noted that the 30th Anniversary VF-1J would look good in a Macross 7 diorama. Specifically, episode 15 comes to mind with all the flashy Valkyries and the Destroid Monster.

I'm not a fan of the multicolored stripes, but I do like how the stripes create the UN Spacy Kite design in fighter mode.

I also like the amber canopy, but I'll take a tinted canopy over a clear canopy any day. :p

Let me know when it hits 75%, off or better, and I'll think about it... :p

it was on sale for $30+ on hobby search (was posted in one of the other threads).

now that I would jump again.

Never saw that, but for that price I would have jumped at it myself and used it as an alternative for a VF-1J no-paint kit.

I don't think slow sales will impact arcadia beyond what a store might order the next time around. Arcadia gets their money either way. I'm sure most shops don't keep up with macross fans tastes, they just know they sell for the most part.

Heh. Would it be cost-effective to get this, disassemble it, strip it, and repaint it?

Oh, did this guy come with the complement of missiles?

afaik, you get the standard v2 missiles. No reaction missiles.

cost effective? I think it is better to get the assembly kit if you have the option. Yamato tend to use super glue on some parts that really makes dis-assembly really hard.

Well, from past experiences collecting Yamato/Arcadia since the early 2000's, these are sure to go up in price once theyre sold out everywhere, no matter how bland (1A/1S Max) or how colorful (1A Angel Birds) they look.

That's when your inner Macross-completist-self will kick yourself in the butt for not grabbing these when theyre cheap. I know I will.

:D
