spanner Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) HLJ has the Arcadia 30th Anniversary VF-1J on sale for a little less than $75 if anyone is interested gee that is cheap! HLJ really dropped their pants with that one! must want to off load the last of their stock!? puts it on par or even cheaper than some of the cheaper used examples I've seen for sale. I'd buy one if I didn't already have one.. but definitely don't want another.. Edited July 25, 2014 by spanner76 Quote
YF-29 Durandal Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) HLJ has the Arcadia 30th Anniversary VF-1J on sale for a little less than $75 if anyone is interested This should have been a VF-4 in the Hikaru color scheme with the skull and crossbones and not this gaudy thing. My heart weeps. Edited July 26, 2014 by YF-29 Durandal Quote
technoblue Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) ^^Mm. If wishes were Valkyries. But I still have one waiting in my private warehouse (from the last sale). Edited July 25, 2014 by technoblue Quote
DarrinG Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Not interested at $75, not interested at $1 . . . Quote
Pedro2k6 Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Anyone has try to take off all the paint of this valk? It can be done? Edited July 25, 2014 by Pedro2k6 Quote
spanner Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Not interested at $75, not interested at $1 . . .oh come on!! Not even at $1!? I'd buy 100 of em if they were only $1!!! =Dbut then again the shipping cost would be astronomical.. Anyone has try to take off all the paint of this valk? It can be done? Ahhh yes! For repaints! Excellent idea good sir! This price puts them roughly the same as the non painted versions!Only downside is their awful tinted canopy.. Edited July 25, 2014 by spanner76 Quote
funkymonkeyjavajunky Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 The scheme is too busy for my taste. I'll pass. Quote

Reïvaj Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Ahhh yes! For repaints! Excellent idea good sir! This price puts them roughly the same as the non painted versions! Only downside is their awful tinted canopy.. Ha! If there's something I like of this version it's the tinted canopy. Quote
SuperSenpai Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Nope, still not interested. On the other hand, I'd definitely get one if it were ridiculously marked down... $1 sounds good to me! I don't think I'd ever want that valk to take up display space, but I wouldn't mind having one on my desk to mess with while I'm taking a break from work... something that I don't mind manhandling or possibly breaking. Or one that I can repaint or mess around with for panel-lining or weathering. Quote
technoblue Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Someone else noted that the 30th Anniversary VF-1J would look good in a Macross 7 diorama. Specifically, episode 15 comes to mind with all the flashy Valkyries and the Destroid Monster. I'm not a fan of the multicolored stripes, but I do like how the stripes create the UN Spacy Kite design in fighter mode. I also like the amber canopy, but I'll take a tinted canopy over a clear canopy any day. Edited July 25, 2014 by technoblue Quote
treatment Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 (edited) Does it come with stand? It comes with some thing that's technically a kind of a "stand". More like a prop... http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?s=3d6eb898298cfbd8ec9c632b64a21b71&showtopic=39282&page=13#entry1075970 Edited July 25, 2014 by treatment Quote

aaajin Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Let me know when it hits 75%, off or better, and I'll think about it... it was on sale for $30+ on hobby search (was posted in one of the other threads). now that I would jump again. Quote
mechaninac Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 it was on sale for $30+ on hobby search (was posted in one of the other threads). now that I would jump again. Never saw that, but for that price I would have jumped at it myself and used it as an alternative for a VF-1J no-paint kit. Quote
aaajin Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 It sold out pretty quick. I was one of the unlucky ones..then got mine at mandrake. -sigh- Quote
chyll2 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 if there were a 30$ version of it, I would jump on it as well. Quote
Gakken85 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 I don't think slow sales will impact arcadia beyond what a store might order the next time around. Arcadia gets their money either way. I'm sure most shops don't keep up with macross fans tastes, they just know they sell for the most part. Quote
aaajin Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 On sale again!. $60-ish with Yen being at all time low : http://www.hlj.com/product/ACA82001/Sci Quote
aaajin Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 might want to add the Q-rare while youre at it : http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN959023/Act Quote
jenius Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 That's a pretty fantastic price on that Q-Rare. Quote
Sildani Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Heh. Would it be cost-effective to get this, disassemble it, strip it, and repaint it? Oh, did this guy come with the complement of missiles? Quote
chyll2 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Heh. Would it be cost-effective to get this, disassemble it, strip it, and repaint it? Oh, did this guy come with the complement of missiles? afaik, you get the standard v2 missiles. No reaction missiles. cost effective? I think it is better to get the assembly kit if you have the option. Yamato tend to use super glue on some parts that really makes dis-assembly really hard. Quote
aaajin Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Well, from past experiences collecting Yamato/Arcadia since the early 2000's, these are sure to go up in price once theyre sold out everywhere, no matter how bland (1A/1S Max) or how colorful (1A Angel Birds) they look. That's when your inner Macross-completist-self will kick yourself in the butt for not grabbing these when theyre cheap. I know I will. Quote
F360 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 After eyeing it out for the pass couple of sales, I finally pull the trigger ,, do I need another vf-1? Especially this super colorful one? But I'm ordering a bunch of stuff might as well add it in. By the way, the Riobot Jehuty is on sale for a really good price , 6686 yen http://www.hlj.com/product/SET88706/Act Quote
spanner Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Ha! If there's something I like of this version it's the tinted canopy. Nooooo! Oh wait what.. nooooooo!!!! Quote
