spanner Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I happened to stumble across this bit of animation the other day and was wondering if anyone knew where its from!? It only runs for a few seconds but its still crazy awesome!! I noticed it runs a bit faster than normal whilst displayed here but you can still see it clearly enough.. Quote
JB0 Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I noticed it runs a bit faster than normal whilst displayed here but you can still see it clearly enough.. Good old animated GIF. Never runs the same rate twice. No, I have nothing useful to add. Quote
Renato Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 I believe it's from the opening animation to the PS3 game, "Another Century's Episode R". I could check to make sure, but please don't make me since that animation is literally the best thing about that piece of garbage. Although flying an Orguss is fun for a bit. Quote
Tochiro Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) If I had to guess - Another Centuries Episode R from PS3? EDIT: Ninja'd by Renato by less than a minute, grumble grumble, lol Edited June 29, 2014 by Tochiro Quote
spanner Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Oh a PS3 game.. Not up to speed on ps3 stuff much but I'll have to check it out! I wish they would bring out these games for PC.. Like Macross 30, would love to have a go of that! Quote
Dynaman Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 That was painful to watch. So horribly cheesy. Quote
Renato Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 Giant multicoloured robots shooting pew-pew lasers? Cheesy? Never!! Oh, and Spanner76 -- No, you do not need to check it out. Trust me. It is awful. Macross30, on the other hand -- you don't know what you're missing. If you're into Macross, it is da bomb. So get a cheapo PS3 now that the PS4 is out and put that sheet in yo. Quote

I'll take your word for it! I'd love to try Macross 30 but I don't own a PS3 and I don't know anyone who has one either.. I can't say im too keen on buying a console just to play one game.. But.. if you reckon it is that good then it may be worth looking around for a cheap PS3! Quote
VF5SS Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 The PS2 and PSP ACE games are actually really good. It's just the PS3 one that was a terrible letdown. Just remember that ACE 1 doesn't have any Macross. Quote
Renato Posted July 1, 2014 Posted July 1, 2014 Macross30 is definitely more than just worth chicking out, I can't imagine any Macross fan not loving it. It is really, really well made. Totally worth buying a console for. A bunch of us recorded an informative podcast about it which should be going up at some point.... Quote

David Hingtgen Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 I would get M30 if it was even partially in English--but having both the basic gameplay menus themselves, and of course all the dialogue/story, totally kills it for me. (as opposed to say some Japanese fighting games, where a huge chunk of it is in English and there's not much plot anyways) Quote
Vepariga Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) Yeah Macross 30 is awesome, but be warned its not for the faint of heart lol some battles can be grueling. Just like the real thing! Edited July 18, 2014 by Vepariga Quote
Mr March Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 But someone told me there are English guides built by the Macross 30 fans, posted right here on the forums. So you can properly navigate that game and understand the mission objectives enough to effectively play even as a non-Japanese speaking/reading player. Quote

Seto Kaiba Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 WHAT!??! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! The footage is included, IIRC, in the Super Dimension Fortress Macross release on blu-ray... so it's available on home video, at the very least. Quote
Galaxy_Stranger Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Yes, but the Blu Rays will cost how many hundreds of millions of dollars? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Quote
Renato Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 (edited) The standard version is at just under 29,000 yen right now at Amazon JP brand new, which is less than what I paid for it. The original price is 41,000 or so. Edited July 21, 2014 by Renato Quote
jvmacross Posted July 22, 2014 Posted July 22, 2014 Perhaps if they re-release it with English subs we can buy it for 50% off!!! Quote

Renato Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Ah, I thought it did. I realized I have the special edition... Quote
