anime52k8 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 (edited) I'm not nearly a big enough robocop fan to to justify either, but those Syd Mead vehicles. They're so sexy. :edit: and then I scrolled down to the bottom of all the product pages "Manufactured and distributed by Toynami." eww. Edited June 20, 2014 by anime52k8 Quote
Drad Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 and then I scrolled down to the bottom of all the product pages "Manufactured and distributed by Toynami." eww. Yeah, I just saw that too. At first I was thrilled. Now I'm worried. Quote
CAIN MKII Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 You should read toynami cinemaquette, they made some of the most stuning statues of our favourite characters like Terminator, Alien, Predator Quote
EXO Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I've seen Cinemaquette stuff in person... in 1/6 scale the Hot Toys/Enterbay stuff is far more accurate than their 1/4 scale statues and way cheaper. Just compare their Godfather figures, Bruce Lee and Indy. And while it's nice that they're working with Tippet studios themselves, I think I'd rather have Hot Toys plastic than resin. Hot toys has had their complaints when it comes to materials but at this point it's who I'd rather roll the dice with specially when it comes to resale value and retail price. I remember when ISS/SAT tried entering the replica arena with their line of MIB guns, it totally didn't work out for them. The deal breaker here is Toynami's name though. It's really not what I would consider an endorsement. Quote
Drad Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 I guess we'll find out, won't we? Chronicle should've done their homework. Quote
CAIN MKII Posted June 20, 2014 Author Posted June 20, 2014 To tell you the truth, it will be my very first cinemaquette statue. I hope it will be alright. Quote
dizman Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 That thing looks amazing, make sure to get a nice display case for it CAIN! Quote
Loop Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 Does it come with an articulated nuke receptacle lol. The Cain "Robocop 2" Statue looks really impressive, but as others have said the toynami name is scaring me away from this one. Quote
EXO Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 To tell you the truth, it will be my very first cinemaquette statue. I hope it will be alright. Hopefully it turns out great. Let us know. Would love for things to work out for Robocop and Phil Tippett fans. I know they also made a blade runner blaster but I haven't seen a review on that. Not that I've looked. Quote
CAIN MKII Posted June 21, 2014 Author Posted June 21, 2014 That will be an awesome christmass time. More pictures from the making of the master prototype. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 ^That actually looks really f'ing cool. Makes me think of that super-duper-deluxe-what-if-chogokin thread in the Macross Toy section about a VF-1 toy to end all VF-1 toys. I'm interested enough to follow the progress of this and any other products that are put out, but I won't be ordering anything until reviews on quality are out. -b. Quote
Drad Posted June 21, 2014 Posted June 21, 2014 These pics really do look awesome, and I wish this new venture all the best. I would love for them to do really well. That said, I'll be waiting for reviews and hoping that these great-looking pieces are everything that they should be and not prone to self-destruction. Quote

Twoducks Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 A few years ago I would have been all over that Cain. Why didn't you come out sooner!? Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) Nice to see another studio spouting up. Always good to have people willing to tackle new things that might fall in the cracks. Is that a Ma. K I see there? Ghostbusters Terror dogs... haha fun. Yeah I dipped my feet in 1/6th but I doubt I'll jump in very deep again. Just the odd toy that strikes me. The quality looks good, but man - so many Robocop toys out there. Edited July 9, 2014 by Gakken85 Quote
Gakken85 Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Yeah, Looks like it was for a convention or something. Quote
