Max1984
I just saw these photos, it is a D style transformable SDF-1, and some D-style VF-1 figures are included. As I also saw the pre-order of very similar D-style VF-1 figures (Toymani) on Bigbadtoy store http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TOY10617&mode=retail, maybe this SDF-1 is also from Toymani? xrentonx
That's pretty awesome but I doubt it's anything to do with Toynami.
Max1984
That's pretty awesome but I doubt it's anything to do with Toynami. I also doubt Toynami's competence to design it, it looks great from the photos. But the VF-1 figures in the third photo are so similar to Toynami's figures, just coincidence? anime52k8
just coincidence, they're clearly a different sculpt from the toynami SD figures. given the weibo.com water mark I'm guessing it's either a one off custom or a super limited resin kit. That said it's friggin' adorable and I would buy one in a heartbeat if bandai made a toy like that.

Renato
Seems like the third party craze has spread from Transformers to Macross. Let's wait and see if BW and/or Harmony Gold are as lenient as Hasbro/TakaraTomy.
anime52k8
I doubt there's much HG could manage to do about this, as for BW and/or Bandai, I sincerely hope they don't come down on this like the fist of an angry god, because I'd love to get one. Mommar
It looks good in Attack Mode but that giant melon on the Cruiser looks... wrong.

VALKYRIE ACE PILOT
I hope this one appears in market soon to encourage Bandai /Arcadia to produce the stuff we really want !!
charger69
Arcadia would be pissed off for a SD SDF-1 from a third-party company just before their mini SDF-1 scheduled for this year  Edited June 17, 2014 by charger69
jvmacross
Arcadia would be pissed off for a SD SDF-1 from a third-party company just before their mini SDF-1 scheduled for this year  Is the mini sdf-1 still coming out? I'd be interested in the sd sdf-1 if it is a completed toy....or at minimum fully painted kit... But I'll wait and see what the toynami sd sdf-1 looks like...plus it may be a tv version? chyll2
i kinda remember, please set your expectations low. In the Gundam scene, third party model always look great in prototype stage but after release, there are some issues, some is gamebreaking while other is just minor. EXO
Those aren't Toynami version SD valkyries.. The Toynami SD VF-1's have the shoulders halfway inside the chestplate. Those are Metal Box aren't they? If that is, then that toy is pretty big.
Mechapilot77
woah that looks cool. no way is that a toynami design at all...unless they hired somebody new. oh and obviusly i am buying the crap out of that! looks awesome.... EXO
HG/Toynami has merchandising rights to DYRL. About September 2014 sale, please continue to focus on the micro-blog." it seems 3P world (ie unlicensed stuff inspired by your favorite franchises...the TF collector world is filled with them now!) is coming to macross! i want this BADLY. love that gigantic head/bridge especially in the space cruiser mode
David Hingtgen
I doubt there's much HG could manage to do about this, as for BW and/or Bandai, I sincerely hope they don't come down on this like the fist of an angry god, because I'd love to get one. Considering the zillions of utter exact clones of actual Bandai product that seem to thrive (Gunpla, mainly), a derivative work that is wholly their own sculpt seems "safer". How long did Joons valks last, with nothing heard from Bandai AFAIK? KO's are far more infringing than 3rd party.
anime52k8
as long as it's available and doesn't cost hundreds of dollars, I'll be happy.
