I saw as well and if that is the reason then they should say so. The same ADULT SWIM bosses at WB are keeping on Ezra Miller for more serious stuff IMHO for the THE FLASH movie.

I have one of the free trials for Apple TV+ from an equipment upgrade. It’s nice. I can easily recommend it. And even after my free trial ends, it looks like Apple’s service is in the lower pricing tier when compared with other services.

Of course, if one is anti-Apple, well… 

Anyway, I’ve been watching Foundation and For All Mankind and I’m slowly moving out of my SF bubble to other things but it looks like Hello Tomorrow! will pull me back in. LoL! Looks a trip from the teaser.

On a related note, I finally moved my butt and upgraded my living room PC to Windows 11. As luck would have it, not only did that go without incident but this version supports a beta of the Apple TV+ app—making Apple’s service easier to access between MacOS, iOS, and Windows. Alas, their web site is still lagging if you use a browser to stream.

As far as Roiland, he should have known that anything he said on social media could get him in trouble. Coupling the criminal allegations with his conversations, it’s no wonder they axed him. He may actually be no better than Ezra, but he really should have been expecting this outcome and should have been prepared. With all his shows dumping him and all the networks shunning him, his life is pretty much done at this point.

I don’t know how well his shows are gonna do with a recast, but I don’t think they’ll be as good or well received. Personally I really liked Rick and Morty and Solar Opposites, but haven’t really gotten into Koala Man. Either way, it could be an end of an era for adult animation.

Regarding Apple TV+ shows, Ted Lasso and Mythic Quest are amusing, fun, and solid.

On the semi-sci-fi realm, there’s Severance.  Kinda trippy concept, but worth a look over.

Thanks! Ted Lasso and Severance have come up in offline conversations. Mythic Quest looks fun too. I’ll make sure to check all three of them out.

That washed out color scheme is really bugging me.  It is Netflix so I will probably give it a look though the trailer does not scream "Must SEE!" to me.

The Last of Us on HBO is not only an excellent drama, it's also the best video game adaptation ever made. By a mile. It makes all the rest look even worse than they already do. 

If you're sleeping on this show, don't. It's going to end up on everyone's top TV of 2023 list at the end of the year.

I’ve really been wanting to watch it, but I haven’t had time for tv the last couple weeks. As soon as I get some time I plan on watching Hunters season 2 and Last of Us. I still haven’t had time to finish Willow, although I’m really not to excited to watch that last episode.

Agreed, this is how you do a video game adaptation.

I must admit, I was kind of hoping to see things play out like in the game but what we got for episode 3 was great, much like a Sarah we get actually get to know Bill, as where in the game he's just a cranky survivalist who has little affection for Joel or really anyone. 

One more thing to add is that if you were like me at the beginning about Bella Ramsey (Ellie) being a bad choice... scratch that, she's a doing a fantastic job and Pedro was definitely the right choice! Nick Offerman as Bill... nailed it!!

Agreed, it kind of stomps all over every other adaptation ever, with ease. Not a hard task I admit, but damn, it's glaringly obvious, the show is just damn good. 

Episode 3 was fantastic, Emmy material for sure, it wasn't what I expected, but I loved what they did. The backlash is swift it appears though, there's already a very vocal minority claiming the show is ruined and went, huuuuuurrrrrr durrrrrrrr woke! This is why we can't have nice things, zombies and murderporn disappear for one episode to focus on an exceptionally well told love story amid chaos and darkness, and all the children lose their minds.

The Last Of Us is really good. I've been enjoying the weekly episodes. I don't have any idea what's going to happen, as I haven't played the game. And I don't have any gripes with changes they may have done.

Anyone else catch The Ark on SyFy? I thought it was pretty good. Not the best, as it could use some better sets and the acting could improve, but certainly interesting enough to watch a few more eps.

This is one of those show's that should be absolute garbage and dumb as hell, as well as canceled after one season... at least for me I've found it entertaining and I'm looking forward to this new season. 

Essentially it's the rich vs. the poor on the islands of the Carolina's, blackmail, revenge, murder and apparently the ultimate treasure hunt. The main cast are teens but so far it hasn't become 90210 in the worst ways possible.

AFAIK it's just on SyFy, the other half of season 3 should be back pretty soon. Probably one of the better shows made in recent years, I recommend it! 

 

@Thom  Much like myself, give it a few episodes and soon you'll be like "Ok, I've come this far, gotta see what happens next!"

I did hear that Stallone's series on Paramount+ is really good. I think having Taylor Sheridan write their most popular series is what is keeping the network alive.

It's streaming on Peacock. I believe there's two seasons on there, I'm eagerly awaiting season 3. 

I'd also recommend the Chucky/Child's Play series, also a SyFy original. I'm not a fan of those movies and honestly don't even remember the last three or so, but the series is actually quite a lot of fun, it's the right kind of cheesy, it's violent, funny, it's really well done and surprisingly entertaining for a series based around a long strung out voodoo murder doll.
