Yes, chef!

Can't wait for this season's round of absolute chaos. While I never worked in a restaurant of that caliber, working for a catering company that only made from scratch, in house organic specialties (for 100-300 people at a time... once almost 500 for a massive wedding... even the Governor & his family attended.) & private candle lit wine tastings & tapas dishes, that experience was intense enough because being really good didn't count, perfection or nothing. I love The Bear, but I do get some wicked flashbacks from it.

Finally watched the first season of 3 Body Problem, and it was pretty good. Very well done characters and scenes, including some really heartbreaking ones, and a compelling story.

My only problem is I think they made the aliens too advanced...

Spoiler

When the San'te finally revealed themselves to the world, they covered the Earth in a 'screen' that basically blocked out sunlight. You want to defeat humanity? Keep that in place. Society will be gone in a matter of weeks do to rioting and general craziness - and as mass starvation sets in as crops die off and then live-stock. But inexplicably, in the next episode it is clear skies as, for some reason, the San'te have lifted their boot before squashing us bugs.

Maybe there'll be an explanation for it?

Still, I liked it a lot and look forward to next season.

I know this released a while back, but we just finished it tonight. Great little series, if there should be a season 2 then we're all on board.

I'm only a handful of episodes into it, but so far I think it's quite good.

Ok, three seasons down, one to go, and it might be the best show I've seen since in years.

And nothing about Butlerian Jihad...

Dang, I might actually want to check out Dune: Prophecy, but I already decided that I'm canceling Max.

EDIT: I know it's said that the Butlerian Jihad is about 10,000 years before Dune, and they're advertising Prophecy as also about 10,000 years before Dune, but if Prophecy is about the founding of the Bene Geserit it should be roughly a decade after the end of the Butlerian Jihad.

I have a feeling it will touch on those events possibly in flashbacks or maybe as an overall beginning to the series before it sets itself in its actual time

Yeah, interesting series that we liked but would be surprised if SUGAR gets a second season.

Currently Apple TV hasn't marked it as cancelled and the creators seem to be teasing another round, but if one season is all we get, I'm happy with that.

Shoresy is one of the funniest comedies ever put on television, and season 3 was easily, without a doubt, the best/funniest piece of hockey related media evert created. I'm glad Letterkenny ended when it did, it kind of ran its course, and I was a bit worried about Shoresey as a spin-off, but season 1 eliminated all worries, season 2 was more well written hilarity, and season 3 was pure gold. Once again, Shoresy is probably one of the funniest things ever put on TV, an absolute must watch if you are into hockey at all whatsoever.

SUNNY

I thought this one was a stupid premise; but after seeing the trailer for it, I think I'd like to find out more about this one. It could be quite interesting...

Ugh. We're almost done with the second season of Outer Range on PRIME and its outstanding but just found the series is cancelled 🤬 WTF!

I haven’t watched the second season yet. The first was super what the hell, but I couldn’t stop watching. For some reason, I just hadn’t been able to get started on the new stuff. Hopefully it doesn’t end with more questions than answers

Apparently it ends with a sudden cliff hanger and nothing resolved. Ugh. F Prime! When compared to their competition Prime's streaming library is small so I'm definitely not renewing my subscription this year.

That sucks. I guess maybe I shouldn’t start the second season. They should have just canceled that Lord of the Rings show. I do like prime for other shows like The Boys and Invincible and Fallout and am looking forward to Warhammer. At least it’s better than D+ even though prime takes too long between seasons

APPLE+ is desperate for that GenX money. That being said I'm old enough to remember seeing TIME BANDITS in the theater and loved it but I get zero nostalgia vibes from that series trailer.

Also, Family Guy did it better. lol

One last thing. It's a shame APPLE+ didn't cast any little people for the new series. Kinda insulting tbh as I'm sure there is very talented little people in Hollywood that need the work.

I don't recall ever watching Time Bandits (the movie) all the way through. It was like Baron Munchausen and just something that never interested me. Don't know yet if I'll give this a try.

And I watched Beverly Hills Cop 4 today - or almost did. I got fifteen minutes into it before turning it off. After waiting thirty years for the right script, this is the one they went with?! I barely got into the story before too many F-bombs (in favor of good script) and too many car chases trying desperately to capture the excitement of that very first one (music included) finally had me looking for something else to watch. Shame though, as there were a couple of nice character moment in there, but not enough to save this one. Sorry Eddie.

I barely see the connection between this and the old film and totally agree about the “little people “, they’re getting replaced from just about everything these days. Other than Dinklage, the younger generation might not realize they even exist outside of porn.

I used to have a movie section where I stacked some dvds and didn’t realize I had my oddball little people section until one of my friends brought up that I had Time Bandits and Willow and Willy Wonka and a couple others next to eachother.

I actually really loved Time Bandits and the Adventures of Baron Munchausen. I also loved Brazil and really loved absurd movies like the goofy troma films. As far as modern stuff, that’s probably why I ended up really liking Turbo Kid and Psycho Goreman and Scott Pilgrim
