Jefuemon Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Looking good. Im looking for clear parts to be made into a 1J head visor..do you have any suggestions? or may I know where did you purchase those clear visors set? Im just too lazy to think/search/lift my fingers to google.... The H Eyes are easy to find. Quote
CrazyDude Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 I love the Wave option parts, tools and other stuff like glues and good Japanese online store should have them. For the clear visor I think heat smashing/vacuum forming is your quickest and best method, you can use clear blister packs for it. Common in scale modeling to make thinner copies of clear canopies. aaajin Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Great tips! Thanks! Thinking of using those mini circle for my JM nose-lights Quote
CrazyDude Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) Getting a big delivery from my PW tomorrow(JST). Includes Wave Option parts, Glues, Clear Epoxy and kits from Layzner, Votoms, Cyber Formula, Yamato, Gundam, Macross some SD Kits and a Ferrari 348TS. I blame the HLJ sales for many of those. And that shipping for me is only 1080Yen per order, regardless of size/numbers. Edited May 31, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
CrazyDude Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 Anyone noticed those kits? http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?GenreCode2=all&Word=1%2F24+Iron+Man&x=23&y=24 Got them pre-ordered and glad they won't take up much shelf space. Quote
CrazyDude Posted May 31, 2014 Author Posted May 31, 2014 (edited) Ordered a few Motorbike models, really like the 1/12 Scale your figures too. Currently in that scale I got Honda Monkey Police Bike, Tiger & Bunny Chasers, Mospeada Ride Armor, Powered Suit, Silent Moebius figure. Waiting for: Honda 600cc Steed/Shadow Yamaha XV1000 Virago Yamaha XV1600 Road/Drag/Wild Star Yamaha 1200cc V-Max(Custom) I prefer Choppers(non-american), Naked Bikes and Touring Bikes for riding, not into Sports/Super bikes. I prefer to do my own customising. Edited May 31, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 You have seen the PIC of the deformed Yamato, tomorrow I start on another one that will get Deluxe parts and will be joint by a carrier, the Musashi and a P-38 Plane. Another fleet is also growing tomorrow got the 2nd & 3rd ships from the Yamato anime, 2 more will soon be released. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) I will post pics later of this months shipments, rather large total of 33 Items and cost 260$ incl. Shipping. Took the pics yesterday. I think I might have made a SNAFU and might get a few more items. Thanks to my J-GF who receives the shipments. Current plan is to build up a good stash so that I can focus on a few big ticket items later on, helps that stuff I want has been shrinking over the Years. Quick list from top of my head. 1 x 1/24 Ferrari 348TS 2 x Yamato Mecha Colle: Yukikaze, Gamilia 3 x Macross SDF-1(2), SD VF-19(Fold booster, etc) 1 x 1/72 Layzner: Baybull 2 x Egg-Planes: Hughes 500, Osprey MV22 1 x SD Aircraft Carrier 1 x D-Style Scopedog 1 x 1/72 Draken Idol-Masters 1 x 1/24 Cyber Formula: Spiegel 1 x 1/48 Lunar Module/Eagle 1 x Gundam Beargguy 1 x RG Gundam Exia Putties, H Eyes, Clear Epoxy, Rods for pinning, etc. Bikes, Knight Rider stuff and part of the June releases in a month. CrazyDude Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Ok, here is the haul for this month, GF shot the pics. Ok, here is the haul for this month, GF shot the pics. Time to roll up the sleeves. I know not all made it into pics as did many supplies. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Japan got hot very quick this year so added a tatami mattress and pillow to my bed for the total cost of 216yen. Nice smell and it feels cool. We used the same mats decades ago on beaches in Greece. Will finish the Beargguy today to surprise my Nurse tomorrow. P.S.: Love the smell of fresh tatami. Got a bamboo wind chime too. Edited June 2, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
Chas Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Woa!That is quite the haul. Whatever happened with the mospeada ride aromr you started? I was rely looking forward to seeing it built up. Edited June 2, 2014 by Chas Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 It is still in process currently waiting for paint but it will not be the Mospeada scheme. Quote
Chas Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Sounds good. can't wait to see what you come up with. How was/is the build? have you made any mods to the kit? Was it a 1:12th or a 1:15th scale? Edited June 2, 2014 by Chas Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Build had the usual probs with this kit. I didn't do any mods this time, except stripping the plating and making it non transformable/fixed pose. It is the old 1/12 IMAI kit of the bike and Stick/Ley and will be used in a Diorama once I am out of the Hospital. Quote
Chas Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 Cool. I've got two of the old Imai Blowsperior kits and one of the Stick version, plus a 1:15 Stick. One of my favorite things to do is taking old kits of modifying the proportions and posabliity of them. As I said I am looking forward to seeing how it turns out, so don't forget to post those picks whenever that day comes. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 Chas. Will do so. Since I am still in the hospital I asked my GF do drop of some kits that I can assemble and paint later. I really love this hospital, since it deals with mental issues it feels more like a resort. Nothing like you see in movies but pricey. Currently working on a SD MV-22 Osprey with Futenma markings, a Beargguy where I lost the mono-eye. Not really a disaster as I will replace it with one I make myself. SD Scopedog is next. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 I know my build process is slow and erratic, there is a reason for that? Many of my builds are the x-times I do a kit and thus I try to do new things with them. Example: I must have build about 50 F-4 Phantons over the decades. Plus, I tend to mount them on bases/diorama. 2 major earthquakes cost me a lot of good kits/buildups that can't be replaced. 3/11 was the weasker one of those. I prefer the building process over the collecting one and build for my own enjoyment. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Got a few kits here with me now: 1/72 Layzner Baybull SD VF-19 with Fold Booster D-Style Scopedog and a few others. The D-Style kit is amazing with possibility, etc. Looks like we just entered Tsuyu(rainy season) here which means very high humidity but not so high temps, just sticky and uncomfortable. We won't get relieve till typhoon season starts, humidity makes painting a gamble. August is a real pain with high temps and humidity. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 Been playing with the D-Style Scopedog, waiting to get the paints for it delivered. Very nice little kit with all the trimmings/Gadgets: 2 Heads for Chirico Hatches open Sensor array rotates and swivels Right arm can be build standard or damaged Fist punch works Leg spikes work Can assume Down form Turbo custom leg rollers are included. Hope we get more Votoms kits in this range as they did for Patlabor. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 7, 2014 Author Posted June 7, 2014 (edited) Starting to assemble the RG Excia tommoros, still undecided if I want to get the RG Repair kit for it. Prerordered this today: http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS00945/Sci Not going to get the 1/700 Gigant though. This makes it my 4th kit from the series. Edited June 7, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 After July I will take a break from doing anime models and do a few scale-models(Cars, Motorbikes) as well as a few S.F.3.D./M.A.K. ZBV3000 models. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 9, 2014 Author Posted June 9, 2014 Working on my Chibi-Maru J-Navy, will consist of Yamato, Kongo, Musashi and Akagi plus a P38. http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?GenreCode2=all&Word=chibi-maru&x=19&y=23 Started on the Akagi & Yamato and I am blown away: This little SD Ships are 4inches in length and pack a lot of detail and parts, some also come with photoetch. The Akagi comes with 3 fighters(3 each) and each has 2 parts and 7-8 decals, the carrier alone consists of over 100 parts, the smallest cannon being 1x2mm. Serious tweezers time. Found it better to ignore the assembly sequence given and do my own. Hulls below the waterline are one-piece and the ships can float. Fun stuff just like the old egg-plane kits. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 11, 2014 Author Posted June 11, 2014 (edited) Currently at home for 3 days, part of rehabilitation. Doc decided I will stay in hospital till end of July but in exchange I will get more rehabilitation stays like this one. Currently working on the RG Excia but don't feel the love for the holo stickers. First you apply a chrome sticker than attach the holograph part over it. End results looks exactly like decoration tape I use above, plus you really need to get the surface smooth and apply the chrome sticker perfect. Also the green "lit" stickers don't look all that impressive when covered with the clear green parts. The plated parts for the sword would look better painted with Alclad II. Apart from that a great little item. Edited June 11, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 12, 2014 Author Posted June 12, 2014 More random pics. 1/144 RG Excia. Gundam Build Beargguy(mono-eye comes later today, after doc visit) SD YF-19/Fold Booster+Fast Packs & SD MV-22 Osprey(paint/decals tomorrow) Mecha Colle Yamato x 3 (paint on Sunday morning) Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 14, 2014 Author Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Beargguy with test fitted sensor, just putty holding it for now. Some Vroooom and Ooooomph. Assembly will be finished tonight decaling tomorrow. 'Cyber Formula Stormzender Spiegel Hp-022' Some Italian Muscle, got it for 900yen on HLJ Sale? Assembly in progress, body colour undecided as yet. Hasegawa 'Ferrari 348TS' The Cars are a warmup for the big build next month consisting of: 1/24 Resin Road Base 1/24 KITT (Season 3) 1/24 Front Scanner Lighting kit(red) 1/24 Resin Michael Knight Edited June 14, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 23, 2014 Author Posted June 23, 2014 Something I have been fearing for some time might come true. Prices in Japan are skyrocketing especially Fruit and Vegetables, even pork now costs as much as beef. This means I have to scale kit building way back or even have to give it up in autumn. Quote

Prices in Japan are skyrocketing especially Fruit and Vegetables, even pork now costs as much as beef. This means I have to scale kit building way back or even have to give it up in autumn. Abenomics and the consumption tax increase at work, eh? I wonder when wages and benefits will be increased to match inflation... Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 I don't see a relief in the near future, sagawa announced that they plan to hire 10000 housewives to make deliveries. Pension age will go up again soon as well as the next tax increase in a month. Problem is the VAT system that gets added at every step for everything incl utilities, base foods, etc. Just getting tough to get through the month on 8man/month and being stopped from working by doc. CrazyDude Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Votoms fever is high, this might be my last build. Chirico(2 kits) http://www.hlj.com/product/KBYKP-293 Gregor(1 kit), Weiman(1 kit) & Moas (1 kit) http://www.hlj.com/product/kbykp-331/Sci Should give me the full squad. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 24, 2014 Author Posted June 24, 2014 Checked my PW got nearly all the kits I am after in it or ordered. Decision was made not to order anything new till Nov, after that only very little buying of selected items. Most likely very little Macross or Anime kits as they tend to be pricey. Happy that I got a call from my son and he is sending me a "The Fool Nobunaga" kit as a delayed Fathers day present. Kit looks nice from the Instructions. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 I will be leaving the Hospital for a 3 week trial period on Monday. Quote
CrazyDude Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Packing my bags and will catch the next Shuttle Bus to Takao station, if there are no changes I won't need to come back in 3 weeks. On TuesdayTuesday/Wednesday I should be receiving a delivery of Kits. Quote
CrazyDude Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) Couldn't sleep well last night so I went to the Combini for a snack. Got the snack and a small One Piece plastic model. Yep, shops like 7-11 sell plamo and gunpla from time to time. Pics at around lunchtime. Got a Chopper Tank(One Piece) in 7-11 colours, assembly done but still need to apply stickers. There are more kits that can combine into a big Chopper Robot. Also need to check why my HLJ order is delayed, in Japan we now get FREE shipping for parcels over 8000Yen value. Edited July 1, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
CrazyDude Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Added a Chopper Drill, my store has 3 of the 5 kits. Will also later have pics of my Hase 348TS Ferrari, still looking for a body colour besides Ferrari/Monza red. Gone a bit of Anime kits. Quote
CrazyDude Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 (edited) Forgot to add not a fan of 'One Piece' and think it runs too long like Naruto, etc. On same token I like some characters and enjoy the ship models coming of the series. To give you a price point those kits are 800yen each, I pay 500yen for a combini bento, happy set, etc. Average lunch here is between 800-12000Yen. Any kit below 1000yen I buy from loose change in my wallet, store points help with the bigger items(Yodo, etc). Edited July 2, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
