captain america Posted March 3, 2014 Author Posted March 3, 2014 I would go somewhere between the Vallejo Turquoise and the color of the book end, but that's me. I'll start sending out PMs for payment, but just the price of the actual kit for now, since I won't know what the shipping will come out to until I'm fairly close to completion. In short: $160 now, and the rest once I can calculate the freight. Also reverting to funds in USD, since it's just easier for most folks. Quote
cool8or Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Do we have to wait the payment request PM, right? Quote
cool8or Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Damn! I just realize that I never wrote an "I'm in" post, so I lost the chance to get one... Quote
captain america Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 I've started compiling my source reference for the sculpt and all I can say is: boy, that crazy beam gun boomerang is going to be a real clusterfrack of sculpting hell! Quote
mechaninac Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I'd say that one of the best references around, in 3D even, is Toynami's New Generation bookends set featuring the Gamo and an "Alpha" in "Battloid" form. Quote
derex3592 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Agreed. Let me know if you need some good pics of it and I can get you some this weekend. Edited March 6, 2014 by derex3592 Quote

Jasonc Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) I checked all the Mospeada line art I have to see if I had one on the Gosu. All I have is it in a pic with height comparison to the other Inbit and the Legioss. According to that, it's taller than the Legioss. Oh, and while you probably already know, money sent for 1. Thanks Edited March 6, 2014 by Jasonc Quote
Major Tom Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) For some reference, I found this pic on the web: http://wildcats.pupui.jp/mt/archives/2005/07/post_157.html and also from this book: http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%A9%9F%E7%94%B2%E5%89%B5%E4%B8%96%E8%A8%98%E3%83%A2%E3%82%B9%E3%83%94%E3%83%BC%E3%83%80-%E3%82%B3%E3%83%B3%E3%83%97%E3%83%AA%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E3%82%A2%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E3%83%AF%E3%83%BC%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B9-ENTERTAINMENT-ARCHIVE-SERIES/dp/4775306707/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1394134641&sr=1-1&keywords=%E3%83%A2%E3%82%B9%E3%83%94%E3%83%BC%E3%83%80 Edited March 6, 2014 by Major Tom Quote

DarrinG Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 I think I would have asked for better claws from the lady in charge . . . Quote
captain america Posted March 7, 2014 Author Posted March 7, 2014 Thank you so much for the references, guys! Rest assured that I scrutinize and study the source material for several hours even before beginning to cut modeling board, and the images of various products as well, just to see how they interpreted certain shapes. Jason: yes, that's why the price jumped slightly, after studying the line art, it quickly became evident that the Gamo, while not the most advanced design, was the biggest in terms of height and girth. As with all the data, some show it to be marginally shorter or taller than a Legioss, so it's a matter of interpretation. First and foremost, I'm going for the look in the 3/4 front view, since I consider it to be the nicest. DarrinG: Quote

CoryHolmes Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 So what's your procedure for cutting the modelling board? Does it come in various thicknesses or do you have to gang several pieces together to make a larger block? What's your shaping mediums / techniques? Quote

A plank of modeling board is 60" by 16" by 2", you may be able to get different formats depending on the vendor. As for techniques that's pretty well laid-out in my build reports. Quote

jardann Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 My payment for one kit sent earlier today. I apologize for the delay. Can't wait to see the magic begin! Quote
captain america Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 (edited) No worries, the magic begins next Monday since I'm just waiting on two people. Aaah, blueberry crabs!!! I'm planning to make the "eyes" from the beam cannons both posable and hollow, so that people who want to light the beam guns will be able to. Edited March 15, 2014 by captain america Quote
