cool8or Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 2013 wasn't my most prolific year, but I neves stops to build kits. This is my last model, the Hasegawa's Elintseeker. Not much to say, always is a great pleasure to build a Hase kit. About the weathering, I prefer not to make it in fighters, I like to see them in pristine condition. In the last picture, I tried to get the same angle that the Tenjin drawing. Thank you for watching! Quote
CrazyDude Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Nice buildup. That is one kit I am still after. Quote
Gabe Q Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 You never fail to impress me. What a perfectly executed build. Flawless. Quote
Jefuemon Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 I beat you by a year in speed, but I think you beat me in quality. Good show! Quote
mslz22 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Super build, very impressive, just the right touch on the panel shading. Your correct that this would not look as impressive with over done weathering. mike Quote
wm cheng Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Simply gorgeous! Flawless execution. Thanks for satisfying my need to see a beautiful model (when I can't build any of my own). BTW, what's that stand you're using, it looks great! Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 You deliver such great models Ruben!!! Fantastic paintjob. Quote
cool8or Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Thank you guys for your words. Cheng, the display is made by Platz, and you can get it in HLJ or Hobbysearch: http://www.hlj.com/product/PLZPMM2 http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10111447 It has magnets so you don't need to make holes. In this case, the Elintseeker don't have a regular or simetric base, so the instalation of the metalic plates was a little tricky, but I really like the look. With the paint problem caused by Flightpose displays, I decide to replace all my display bases for this one. And you're right, the look is great, and you can adjust the angle too. Quote
Valkyrie2008 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Cool8or, I love your style of work, nice and clean with perfect amout of weathering technics. This is exactly how I want all my fighters to look. Excellent Job! Quote
ivorysniper Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 That is a beautiful bird !!!. Pristine build !!. Quote

So do you stick those plates right onto your paintwork on your model?! or are they meant to me inside the the model? Quote
PetarB Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 (edited) Haven't seen one of these for a while. Beautiful work - very clean, with some appropriate shading. Do you use Tamiya paints? Edited February 11, 2014 by PetarB Quote
cool8or Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Metal plates comes with adhesive tape, with is fixed on the surface. Next time I'll try to put metal parts ir magnets inside the kit, but in this case I started the kit before to get the display base Quote
cool8or Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Reno, after finish my YF-21, I want to make a step by step thread, but I still don't decide which model to make... Maybe I'll start a poll! Petar, I'm in a transition point... Due some adhesion problems (I did a thread about it some weeks ago), I'm changing to mr. Color paints. I found a web site in Hong Kong with a great stock of these paints, so I'm increasing my stock rapidly. The page is www.sealmodel.com Quote
MechTech Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 That looks AWESOME! I too think you nailed it! Just enough shading, lining and the colors! - MT Quote

Guest davidwhangchoi Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 amazing! is that misa or kaifunn as the backseat driver? Quote
PetarB Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 amazing! is that misa or kaifunn as the backseat driver? When I sculpted her, it was Misa that I was going for…. but it's Cool8or's girl now! Quote
cool8or Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Sincerely, I don't know who's under the helmet! Sorry Reïvaj for the answer delay! The display base have a ball joint so I don’t think that have the strenght to support a toy. May be if you glue the ball... Thanks for your words guys! Quote

Sincerely, I don't know who's under the helmet! haha, thanks guys! yeah the figure looks pretty slim. Misa just needs to slap the front pilot and she'll be in DYRL character!
