505thAirborne Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 That Orguss looks amazing, my wallet just screamed!! Quote
mechaninac Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Oh damn ... as if 2014 hasn't been expensive enough already, 2015 is promising to be just as much of a wallet buster. I suppose it's still too soon to know scale and price, right? Quote
mechaninac Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 1/60!!!!!! I wouldn't be against 1/60; but given the relatively small size of the mecha, 1/48 would be a better, more robust, choice. Quote
VF-Zer0S Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I'm not familiar with this line but does it transform? Quote
treatment Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) I'm not familiar with this line but does it transform? Yeah. Not only does it transform, it also guest-stars as itself in the SDFM TV-series. I'm not even kidding about that... Edited July 31, 2014 by treatment Quote
VF-Zer0S Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Sorry for the misunderstanding but I meant the figure. I knew the Orguss transformed but I believe thats the the Orguss Valyrie no? Only difference being the head but Id love to pick this up if it transformed Quote
treatment Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) The prototype indicates transformation (flaps, hinges, doors etc). The last Hi-Spec release from Megahouse was their recent Galvion, and it transforms: http://www.collectiondx.com/toy_review/2014/variable_action_high_spec_galvion Edited July 31, 2014 by treatment Quote
VF-Zer0S Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Nice! I think Ill pick this up then. I love these retro robots Quote
DarrinG Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) I might be in for this. From the Collection DX review of the Galvion fig: "If you like Galvion you've probably already bought this toy. If not you should! When are we going to get another Galvion toy? Probably not for a long time. Overall its a good figure with my main complaints being the paint and weak knees. At 14,800 yen it is a bit expensive but I would say worth it for a Galvion fan." Makes the upcoming review for the Megahouse Orguss really easy: "If you like ORGUSS you'll probably get this toy no matter what. If not you should! When are we going to get another ORGUSS toy? Probably not for a long time. Overall its a good figure with my main complaints being the paint and weak knees. At 14,800 yen it is a bit expensive but I would say worth it for an ORGUSS fan." technoblue Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I'm in. With this news and the Blu-ray set, it's like finding a unicorn of awesomeness. Quote
niomosy Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Oh damn. My wallet isn't liking this one bit. Still, an Orgoid would be awesome. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I hope it's 1/60 because it'll scale perfectly with my Yamatos. Plus, being an ultra-niche toy, it'll probably be expensive. Scaling it up to something like 1/48 would make it even more expensive. Quote
CF18 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 (edited) New image. Fighter mode cockpit looks rather undersized. Edited August 22, 2014 by CF18 Quote
VF-Zer0S Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 How is the show compared to SDF? Still picking this up but I'd like to know if the show is worth my time Quote
CF18 Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 From what I can remember - the show is more light-hearted at the beginning, with a few nude scenes. It got slow and repetitive in the middle - you will see lots of reused animation of Ishkick and Nikick jumping around. IMO better than Southern cross and about equal to Mospeada. Quote
mechaninac Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I really wanted to like this new toy of such a venerable 80's mecha; alas, I think the old Imai 1/40 kit looks way better proportioned... that cockpit looks 2 sizes too small, and that's just one of many minor flaws. Ultimately, price will be the determining factor if this piece will be a buy or a skip, but it doesn't look promising. Quote
technoblue Posted August 22, 2014 Posted August 22, 2014 I like it. And I'm looking forward to the painted models. Has Megahouse given any hint as to the scale of this Orguss? Quote
DarrinG Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Not bad - will follow this. Won't get a pre-order, but will watch and if it is high-quality and no breaks etc - might get . . . Quote
Renato Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 VF-ZeroS: The show is better than SDF, in my opinion. Really interesting characters and relationships, plus an intense build-up to a cathartic climax. SDF might be better in terms of mecha action choreography and realistic designs, but Orguss constantly looks interestingly imaginative. Quote
no3Ljm Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Any updates on this one? Hope this will push thru. And I hope the cockpit is proportion enough like in the anime. Quote
treatment Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 Any updates on this one? Hope this will push thru. And I hope the cockpit is proportion enough like in the anime. No updates. They haven't even bother painting the prototype at the latest hobby show they're displaying it: http://www.taghobby.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/R030.jpg Quote
DarrinG Posted September 26, 2014 Posted September 26, 2014 They're taking their time, ironing out the details . . . ( hopefully ) Quote

( hopefully ) Thanks guys! Just excited to see new updates. Hope their checking the right proportions too (re: canopy, wing, etc.). 1/40 is a-ok with me as long they're just releasing only Orguss. But if they decided to expand the line with Olson's, Nikick, Ishkick, and the rest, then, 1/60 or 1/50 would be fine. Quote
treatment Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) Just saw this at taghobby:180mm37800y (???)3/2015 Edited November 19, 2014 by treatment Quote
SuperHobo Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Correct me if I'm wrong, but does the price say 37,800 yen? Please tell me I'm wrong. Quote
treatment Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 I hope you're wrong, too. That's alot of clams for a rather small figure. Quote
SuperHobo Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Seriously, at 37,800 yen not only will this be the most expensive variable action hi spec figure from megahouse, but it will probably be the worst selling figure for them ever at that price. This thing costs almost as much as the VF-0D! Quote
jenius Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) Pretty sure that 3 is March and the price is 7800 but I don't read a lick of Japanese. I'm wrong, the March appears earlier, but I'm still guessing the price is 7800 Yen. Edited November 19, 2014 by jenius Quote
treatment Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 (edited) toysdaily-forum seems surprised by the 37800y pricing: http://toysdaily.com/discuz/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=230857&extra=page%3D1&page=1 I just wanna say... Good luck with that damn pricing, MegaHouse. We here at MWF are already groaning at the pricing of the godly 300mm Arcadia VF-0D. Does Bandai have the rights to the old Takatoku Orguss moulds? Edited November 19, 2014 by treatment Quote
lechuck Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 So what does that scale to, any spec dimensions on the Orguss? Quote
JB0 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Apparently, the Orguss stands 8.7 meters. So roughly 1/48 scale(8700 mm / 180 mm). Quote
