skullmilitia Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 maybe this will go along with the non-scale Bodolza watermelon. It'd probably be a watermelon in order to scale correctly! Quote
EXO Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 If it came with everything in the display, meaning the diorama pieces and 3 SDF-1s... lol. Quote
aaajin Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Does it actually say it's transformable? Maybe it's just two SDF's stuck in the different modes. Gashapon sdf-1 for $75 will make it a definite no for many fans... Quote
Gakken85 Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 I don't have an SDF, other than an old matchbox one, so I'm down for this. Quote
SuperSenpai Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 By definition, any toy costs less than a more expensive one. I was wondering that too. It looks like that'll be an exclusive for the online shop orders or something... the text is too tiny to read properly, but that's what I could make out. I meant that a smaller toy should be less expensive than a larger one, sheesh! Bunch of smart alecks in here. Quote
xrentonx Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Count me as one of the few who like this. Grew up with SDFM but I've always preferred the Macross from DYRL. Quote
skullmilitia Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 The included city makes it cool. Steep price, but.. It is the SDF-1. Quote
jenius Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 does it transform? One would assume since it's shown in both modes. Given the price of the WAVE kit I'm not suffering from too much sticker shock. Sign me up for one. Quote
Tober Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 If the 110mm refers to the length of the fortress mode then it's still not really that small. I assume it transforms as the SDF transformation isn't too complicated. I'd be interested in getting one. Quote
Graham Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I've always prefered the DYRL version. May get this. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I'll play along with this Mini SDF-1 if Arcadia does something like this Quote
EXO Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 It'd probably be a watermelon in order to scale correctly! Bodolza's ship is the size of a 2 story house compared to the Ant SDF-1. Remember at the end, all the capital ships including the Macross, were flying NOE style on it's skirt before Britai's ship blasted a hole on the side of the round pumpkin-like part. Quote
Reïvaj Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014  Just tweeted him... in English. "Why not 1/3000 SDFM instead?" with a pic. His foreign fans need to let him know a lot of us we're more familiar with and want the TV version. Yeah, I saw your tweet. Looks like it wasn't clear enough as to let him know what you meant but you could've taken advantage of the opportunity to let him know that the foreign fans are also grateful for his work. Quote
Actar Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Taking into consideration the fact that the recent Yamato one is going for outrageous prices on the secondary market, this is looking pretty neat. Quote

Kanedas Bike Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Dang, who knew that MacrossWorld was available as a username! And bad troll, bad. -b. Quote
mojacko Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 YES an SDF....NO for the scale and NO for the price......another poor decision by Arcadia.....wtf are they thinking....first the gruesome 30th anniv VF1J and now the gashapon size SDF....... Quote
aaajin Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 rather than having a gashapon sized SDF-1, I'd rather they just re-release the 11B, or the display stand with more adapters.. dont get me wrong, not that I dont like the SDF-1 ... I'd love the gashapon-scale for displaying dioramas, i.e skirmishes with briitai fleet, but the price..urgh sorry for being a d*ck for complaining about the price, but $75 for a gashapon is a bit steep..be it transformable or not. yman1437 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Looks like someone is trolling as MW... Wait....what happened? Quote

RyuRoots Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 75 bucks? That's before shipping too, and if it's a web exclusive of some kind, that'll probably mean proxies for anyone not living in Japan... And for a *four inch* SDF-1? At that point I'd rather just dump more money for a bigger one. I don't mind it being the DYRL version since I like it with the ARMD ships but I gotta say I'd prefer a TV series version myself, honestly. I have no idea what Arcadia's thinking between this and that eye-bleeding anniversary valk. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Stupid mini SDF-1, it's driven the price of the old 1/3000 SDF-1 more up. Quote
Mommar Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 My biggest issue is that lots of us have been clamoring for a SDFM version of the SDF-1. Instead this give us this overpriced, mini-DYRL nobody asked for. Charge me $500 for a web-exclusive if they have to. It was my favorite thing from the original TV series, bar-none, and I'm still waiting for one. Quote
Frogze Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 You know it might be just wishful thinking but I see a future behind this release. Arcadia will release the most likely item to sell well among capital ships, SDF-1 DYRL version. After this one, Arcadia might release other capital ships, SDFM TV version, Macross7, whatever they have the license of. It's a much less risky way to sell these since the pricing is set much lower than a 1/3000 version. And given the bonuses this first release comes with and the transformation gimmick, I'm not under the impression it's that much overpriced but I might be wrong about this, the first reviews will tell I guess. Vifam7 Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 (edited) I don't know if anyone was able to read the ad in the very first post but it clearly says "kit". It's not a toy, it's model it. A resin model kit*. Think of this as a limited issue garage kit. Hence the high price. * using colored resin - so it doesn't have to be painted ** the ad does also say it will transform Edited March 10, 2014 by Vifam7 Quote

Mommar Posted March 10, 2014 Posted March 10, 2014 If it's a kit shouldn't this topic be moved out of the toy section and into the model section then? Quote
Reïvaj Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 As this topic is still in the toys section I'll post these pictures here: ¥10,000 including taxes. Quote
