Guest davidwhangchoi Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Just paid HLJ for mine. $138.88 before shipping I think this is the cheapest Frontier valk ive gotten. Now i need to wait 1 more week for another item and i can ship it out. how did you get 138.88, you must've had some coupon. Quote
mog_kupo Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Hearing all of you pay for it at MSRP or less makes me jealous Quote
anubis20 Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 how did you get 138.88, you must've had some coupon. Yup HLJ shafted me on another order and gave me 2 10% off coupons. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 you keep getting these coupons. i want to get shafted as well... no just kidding that sounds wrong Quote
funkymonkeyjavajunky Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 (edited) I just got my receipt from HLJ for $154.31 USD (before shipping). Since when do HLJ orders default back to PayPal autopay? I specifically changed payment methods but it doesn't appear to have stuck. The money auto transfers without any chance for review. Could it be a Private Warehouse requirement? Rabidweezil Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Interesting, my HLJ invoice says: "YF-28 Durandal Valkyrie Ozuma Type" I can't wait to get it so I can see what a YF-28 Ozuma looks like Quote

They always ask me after a order (everything goes to the PW first) if I like to pay with auto transfer or without. Maybe you clicked on the auto transfer once and now it is stored as preference. If there isn't a way to change it in your account settings send an email to the HLJ customer service and see if they can change it for you. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted May 10, 2014 Author Posted May 10, 2014 Waiting on my invoice from Hobby Search - guessing sometime later this evening. And for you members looking at your phones while behind the wheel, NO posting and driving! -b. Quote

mechaninac Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) The gray tones on this 29 are superb -- only way to make it perfect would be a matte finish, but Bandai really screwed up with the oversaturated blue tint on the canopy; it's far too strong and opaque. Why, oh why, couldn't they replicate what they did with Isamu's version?... that too was very blue, but clear enough to see through. Edited May 10, 2014 by mechaninac Quote
Chronocidal Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) Honestly, I'm more annoyed by the fact that they decided they needed to paint the engine pods in a metal tone, instead of making them match with the rest of the plane. Still not bad, just looks out of place when the rest of the plane is so nicely matched. Edited May 10, 2014 by Chronocidal Quote

I actually like the metallic tones, I think it does well with the color scheme (but then again I'm partial to metallic on just about anything). What stands out to me more than anything are the bright yellow stripes (and the BLUE canopy). -b. Quote
Scyla Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Quick question. On this picture look at the area where the dark gray of the main fuselage and the light gray of the cockpit interior meet. To me this looks like paint overspray. Does this mean that the entire fuselage is painted in this dark gray color just like on the YF-29 30th Anniversary? Or is it the other way round and the light gray is painted? Quote
Mommar Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Ugh, I wish they didn't use such a distracting background. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Oooh, I love the final colors. Reminds me more of the Su-47 now. Quote
Mommar Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I'll have to see it in person but based on those review pictures I'd like the color to be a few shades darker. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 That light grey area on the LERX really looks like a mistake. I'd totally remove it if it's light grey paint over dark grey plastic. Hopefully it's not molded light grey and is missing dark grey paint----that's be hard to match and subject to wear during transformation. As for the overall color----if it was any darker, you couldn't see the black markings at all. It's supposed to be Ozma grey/black/yellow, not stealth pure utter black. Quote
Scream Man Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 i love it, and wish I'd been able to afford it even more now. Such a gorgeous toy in all modes, and i love the 29 design. *Sigh* One Day... Quote
Reïvaj Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 (edited) I like the colours the way they are, except for the IMO cheaply coloured blue canopy. Oh, and the gunpod could've also been darker. But, overall, I think this toy is beautiful. Edited May 10, 2014 by Reïvaj Quote
anime52k8 Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 I wonder if it's molded in color or if it's clear plastic painted blue? Quote
Reïvaj Posted May 10, 2014 Posted May 10, 2014 Well, actually, based on the hinge I would've said painted And I really hope it's only painted. Quote
Axelay Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Utterly gorgeous, and I'm not yet a huge fan of the YF-29. This one is totally doing it for me, and I'm so glad that I preordered. Quote
