Fifty Shades Of Valks???.....

It's very hard to capture ANY of these as they actually look to the naked eye without proper photography tools IMHO.

that's awesome

I'm fairly certain they had another episode planned before 4 and 5, but oh well. It was a pretty typical Macross ending though.

I caved and got a second.. will probably wait a bit for them to be shipped though, I need to reorganize and clear out some things I mean to get rid of.

hello guys, I write from Italy and yesterday I received two copies of my models.
hoping that this is the right topic, let me share with you my experience, tragic experience !

I enclose a couple of pictures, hoping that they are enough, because my english is not very good and I would not know how to describe what happened, but i try.

transforming the model from Fighter to Gerwalk for me has been very hard, because the pin that engage the legs is very soft, fragile.

the two panels of the fuselage were screwed with too much force, the support has collapsed!

I'm sure it was not my fault, I did a lot of practice with the Yamato.

Grab 'em while you can.

What parts do I need to set up four zero valks in one stand? And is it stable enough? (1vf0s and 3vf0d?)

Also the same but this time 1 Nora 1 Ivanov and 2 fodder?

Lots to check out at the YetiStand webstore. wmkjr has become an expert at burdening the stands. One of his setups had six VF-1's on a single stand. I personally don't do more than 2 per stand of anything other than the VF-1's (they are so small compared to others). With two per stand they still fit easily on shelves. If you balance it correctly, 4 Zero valks should be perfectly stable.

Here are some shots from wmkjr:

I could guess at what pieces he used for that particular configuration, but hopefully he will chime in.

To get 4 valks up on a stand, you will need at minimum:

1x YetiStand

3x Dual arms

Depending on the wingspan of the valk, and how you want them oriented you will also want a few xl arms, and elbows. You will also need adapters for each valk you want to put on the stand. The SV-51's, and VF-0D's can use this adapter. The Yamato VF-0's would need this or this.

Depending on how you feel about the included fighter mode adapter Arcadia gave you, I also have a replacement for that here.

I opened the second I bought, and, fortunately, is perfect!

I assume that is a manufacturing defect.

I prefer not to name the store, since it is not his fault, I just say that I bought from Japan.

i will however try to contact him and see if is possible to change the broken one... i'll let you know how it ends ;)

those YetiStands are amazing!

Thanks!

Same setup as above except reversed the rear XL arm direction. Got it up to seven VF-1's now.

med_gallery_7577_740_944325.jpg

Zero quad:

1 Standard Yetistand base

1 standard arm

2 double arm

4 XL arms

2 elbows

2 M5 80 x 30 Metric hex bolt from hardware store (This is the only thing that is modified. Everything else is from Yetistore)

2 extra rubber washers from extra arms lying around

Adapters to fit

Disclaimer: I'm doing this knowing full well I'm not using the setup as it was intended to be. It holds extremely well but don't wanna get Yeti in trouble as there are hardware not intended to be used in the original design. There are ways to do the quad with standard Yeti parts but I haven't tried the setups.

You use the extra long bolt from the hardware store so you can fit more than two arms in one joint, right?

any way we can get bigger pictures? I can't really tell what happened.

Yes. With extra washers in between the arms for friction. I put in a disclaimer to the setup.

Ouch! Those legs must've been pegged in super tight. It looks like a lot of force caused the leg tab to stress and crack/warp. Was the legs pulled straight up and down? Or was it pulled with a rotated motion? There looks to be stress marks on the left side near the crack in the center on the first pic.

Woohoo!!! Finally got mine. NY charged me 4,700Y, but it only really cost them 3,500Y to ship it via EMS. However they declared a low 2,500Y value and it saved me $60+ in Canadian Customs & Duties charges. I'd rather pay them $12cdn for obtaining this toy for me than $60 to the government for trying to make it hard for me to get this toy!

Initial out of the box impressions...

Great proportions, I like it better than the YF-19 so far.

My left afterburner detail was in the box - so it already fell off the feet before any transformations.

Waaay too dark of a blue, will be really problematic trying to apply the 305 modex, the black pilots names and black UN SPACY on the legs (just won't show)

Great pilot sculpts - wished they stayed in their seats better.

Really loose air brake - deploys everytime I woosh and do a barrel roll!

Panel lines are waaaay too shallow - almost none existant... hard to panel line - why bother when its that subtle?!

Gun pod attaches really loosely in fighter mode (no matter how much I push the arms together - the slots just a bit too wide)

Gun pod aims down too far in the front (would be nice to be parallel to the ground with the gears extended)

Blue paint on the LERX really doesn't match any other blue on the plane...

Really nice that they tried to replicate the feathered edge between the blue and white

No broken neck syndrome of the earlier VF-0.

Locks together really well in aircraft mode!

I love the subject matter and design. I'm going to do a lot of work to bring the colour nearer and lighter to what's in the anime (clear coat protection of the paint will be a problem with the transformation process) - to even get any black decals I can scrounge up to show up on such a dark plane. It's a good toy (I haven't transformed it yet) but for this price, it should have gotten the colour right and tampo all the markings! (or provided water slides at the very least!). Come on Arcadia, you want to charge these prices, give us a reason more than just profits.

Can't wait to see WM Cheng's when he's finished. In the meantime, here's what I've done today. (some with flash, some without). Lost some eyesight trimming every single sticker as best I could and scrounging stickers from other Valks so I could add some white on blue lettering. Really didn't come out to bad. As Cheng mentioned..waterslides would have been NICE ARCADIA! I'm not bothering with panel lines on this one as you wouldn't really notice on the blue anyway and they are super shallow. Was nerve racking enough when I did the Arcadia 19. Anywhooo... I knoooow it's not number accurate to the anime aaaand I really don't care! :p

Way more blue than I thought it would be, and I do not like how dark it is. There are parts falling off already, I cant have the landing gear door on the left leg open with out it falling off. It just slides out. The pilots just bounce around in the cockpit. It is nice that the 0A/0S weapons fit.

There is either some anime magic with this valk or the proportions of the 0A/0S are wrong. Actually I think the Yamato pilots are too big to begin with. A two seat cockpit should take up more length than a single pilot cockpit.

I have not transformed it yet so no pictures of battroid yet. I was a little disappointed in it and just put it in the display cabinet for now. I don't hate it, it may need to grow on me.
