Loop Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 So is this of a final production painted model? Cause I hope there is not a bunch of paint chipping. Quote
ChaoticYeti Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I took it more as showing the pieces that are not pinned or otherwise permanently attached. Quote
jenius Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Some of it is probably "This will draw blood" warnings. Quote
xrentonx Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) I took it more as showing the pieces that are not pinned or otherwise permanently attached.I felt a pang of partswap anxiety for a millisecond (which is silly) but, yeah, I thought the same.Edit: Agree on the draw blood thing too. Maybe a few of those circles are "This be sharp, dumbass!" warnings Edited February 20, 2015 by xrentonx Quote
firefly Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Haaaaa!! i understood it's a model kit scale 1/60 and paint it like you want   Quote
rasky Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Yeah, definitely appreciate the sharps warning. Once cut myself transforming a VF-1A v. 2 and realized how sharp these things are! Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Sharpest two valks I know of: Head-spike on a Sv-51 (has drawn blood!) Forward-pointing spike on spine-covering of VF-25 super-pack. Quote
jenius Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Arcadia should be proud of how crisp they can get their molds... but they also should scale it back. a very minor rounding in a few places would barely be perceivable and would lessen injuries to the user and the toy itself. Quote
xrentonx Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 (edited) That SV-51 head-spike got me once before. That thing is insanely sharp and I love it. The 19s have some razor thin wings. I almost cut myself running my finger along the edges of em (not on purpose). Edited February 20, 2015 by xrentonx Quote

derex3592 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 VF17 will hurt you every single time you go near it... Quote
funkymonkeyjavajunky Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 i'll happily bleed for any Valk! Our wallets already bleed for valks. Quote
Loop Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 All the really good expensive toys require a blood sacrifice Quote
spanner Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Our wallets already bleed for valks. Well seeing my wallet & bank accounts have been bled pretty dry so why not start giving blood and other body parts to start paying for these things! Quote
spanner Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Only a week to go now till release! I think the Zero-D is gonna be one of the more if not the most exciting Vlakyrie releases for me this year! =D The release version paint colors are a worry but I still don't mind the richer blue so much. I'm still gonna love this thing to bits! Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 What's that a photo of? It looks nothing like this toy. Quote
Mommar Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Any given still from that movie the blue looks different. In the canyon training scene when Roy drops down from above the blue is almost exactly like the toy. Quote
spanner Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 What's that a photo of? It looks nothing like this toy. hehe! never seen those colors before either! hey they should use them for the Zero-D! oh.. no wait.. Quote
Shukenzero Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 So pumped that we've only got a few days left for this baby to drop. Quote
ron5864 Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Man, the price of this is some what steep at almost $300. Is this a limited run like the VF-4G? Quote
xrentonx Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 If this thing drops I hope it drops in the next week. Otherwise, I hope it drops on the 7th of next month once my next billing cycle hits. Juggling credit cards here Quote
treatment Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Soon.....very soon..... Ya know? The upcoming YF-29b's grey/blue scheme color is actually much much closer to that than Arcadia's own 0D: vs hmm... Quote
no3Ljm Posted February 21, 2015 Posted February 21, 2015 Wow. Next week, right? Hope yen stays the same as this week. If it's going to drop more next week, the better. Just to save more bucks. And hopefully AmiAmi will deliver good this time again. Can't wait for another Guld-colored Valk once again. (Since most of the comments here were referencing it to Max, I will reference it this time to Guld. ) Make mine Arcadia! Hahaha! Quote

Mommar Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 This thing sure comes in a lot of different colors... Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 ^To be fair I'd say most of the differences in the pictures above could be attributed to lighting. -b. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 It's clear though, what the color usually/should be. And it's not "dark and intense blue" as occasionally seen at night and in canyon-shadows. It's the brightly-lit daytime shots, both in the air and on the ground. A dull grey-blue. I mean, Ranka has purple hair in some dimly-lit scenes, and Grace conversely has green. Doesn't mean you can point to an individual frame and say "see, that's what color it is!" No, that's just momentary color-lighting-effects. Quote
Mommar Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 It doesn't even stay the same color in the hangar scene. The closeup of Shin with his hand on the plane and the next pulled back shot are from the EXACT SAME SCENE as the pic everybody else has been commenting on as being the correct color. It's not a momentary change in scene or darkly lit canyon shot... it's the same damn scene. Quote

It's not a momentary change in scene or darkly lit canyon shot... it's the same damn scene. Dunno, in those two shots, the one wide-angle and the one with Shin's hand on the 0D the blue looks basically the same (you can get a good look at the color if you look just to the upper right-hand corner of the UN Spacy Kite). Not saying that there are or are not differences in how the color looks throughout the series, just that it's not so bad that you couldn't attribute it to the animators trying to capture lighting/perspective/angles. Heck, I'm still not convinced of what the toy will actually look like. I keep looking at all of these pictures and depending on which one the blue is dark like Max (or Guld - ha ha) or it's a lighter shade. I'll just be surprised when I finally open the package and see for myself. A big fat transformable $ 300 surprise, with delta wings. -b. Quote
anime52k8 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 the pale blue just kind of looks like crap. Quote
spanner Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 there is actually a faint texture like pattern (or shading) visible in that light blue also, so its not just a solid color on its own.. so apart from Arcadia having not any real intention or ability to matching the color itself, there is not hope in hell that it will be textured either.. Quote
jenius Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I think they're hoping to make a cannon fodder repaint some day so they were worried about going too light or too gray. Quote
