Firefox
Not sure if this is the right place. Dug through my computer and found these interesting Macross items. I think the scrambled Valkyrie is a better remake of VF-1 than the VF-0. One could see hints of VF-11 too in the scrambled Valkyrie design. I don't know much about the Star Crusade. Anyone have more info on these two, especially line art or pics, could you share?
Renato
The Scrambled Valk design is called the VF-1SOL. I like the design not only because it is essentially a bridge between the original Valkyrie to the VF-11 Thunderbolt, as you mentioned, but also because it represents a link in the evolution of the thematic concepts behind Macross, since the special equipment it uses is basically a prototype of the Sound Boosters, which also came to fruition in Macross 7. It's a shame that publications up to now haven't touched on them (especially "Shoji Kawamori's Macross Design Works". Hopefully the Macross Chronicle Revised Edition will have something on them - especially because of their role in the evolution of the design concepts. Firefox
I also noticed that the Star Crusade battroid mode looks a bit Orguss-ish

Does the new Chronicle devote much space to concept art or only "in-universe" explained gear?
Gubaba
Does the new Chronicle devote much space to concept art or only "in-universe" explained gear? In-universe stuff, almost exclusively.
