Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (西遊·降魔篇) is the latest film adaptation of the classic Chinese novel by Wu Cheng'en, directed by Stephen Chow (Shaolin Soccer, Kung-Fu Hustle) and Derek Kok. The film Shu Qi (Lai Kwai in The Transporter, Bu in Gorgeous) and a host of Chinese and Taiwanese actors.

The film premiered on February 7-8, 2013 in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan to rave reviews while breaking box office records in those regions. It is set for a limited U.S. release on March 2014.

can't believe i missed this. hope the blurays are already out in the east.

Kung Fu Hustle made me laugh so hard. and i see similar zaniness in the trailer.

it looks like the big buddha palm is back too!

looks all kinds of awesome. definitely will be seeing this or getting it on bluray. one correction though...journey to the west isn't originally a novel but a folk legend. its possible novels were written later and this is based on it though so if thats what you meant than my apologies.
