finally busted out the KC Hikaru. Gotta say it’s pretty cool to finally have some decent Macross character figures.

Looks great! Especially the 1D with an actual seated Minmay figure. :good:

Hmm rarely take head-on frontal Fighter shots, as I find phones have very limited depth of focus (hope I'm using the right term).

Canted down FSW wings doesn't look like what I imagine to be at this angle lol.

Try using a bit of zoom and getting farther away.  That'll increase your depth of field/focus, altho mostly digital zoom is bad for quality.

Thanks for the tip. It's a tradeoff between focus & image quality then. Took quite a bit of time & many tries to find an acceptable compromise between both..

Jelly.  And my favorite version of the -17.

It does look like a freakin’ tank.

But it’s also one that requires a ton of anime magic, even more so than the -21.

Yamato made it work.

I just took out my 171s to set them up in my cases and they were a PITA, even though I only needed to attach the armors. From the wonky leg design to the idiotic swapping wings, it's just not any fun to handle.

Agree on this. I’m occasionally conflicted on how the Yamato 17 turned out.
The 21 had gorgeous Fighter at expense of Battroid, whereas for the 17, Yamato sort of went midway between both modes.

I like the 17 in Fighter as it is, but sometimes when I look at the line art the front end / nosecone of the toy is just so different in comparison!

The 171 requires less anime magic yet it a worse toy than the Yamato 17. Funny how that works.

Haha we hope new Revival 171 fixes the issues, but I'm not putting that high hopes. The 'fixes' that Bandai did for the Revival 25 & 29 weren't very effective after all.

Great shot, the lighting is well done. It sets a great tone for the photo.

I have to break out the 1/48 Stealth one day. Now I think about it, Bandai should do that scheme for their Chogokin 50th instead lol.

Yammie / Arcadia's Fire Valk have pretty perfect proportions in Battroid. Mine has been in storage since the day I got it, so I'll live vicariously through others' pics. Nice! :good:

Nice series of shots, also your workbench is clean and very well organized.
