He was wondering if I will get some because he knows how much I love FFVII. I told him that I already gave up on that dream to have all of them. I already gave Square enough money when they started doing Playarts FFVII figures in the hopes that it will get completed one day. And now that it's available in a sweet size where you can display it along with the rest of the other 'human' figures, I decided not to get them. The only reason is the price. I'm actually thinking of selling the others in the future by a lot just to dispose of it after I sorted out all my figures. I'm only keeping PAK's Clouds with Fenrir and Hardy Daytona, Sephiroth AC, Squall, and Noctis. I do think they look great, most FFVII merch is Remake and Rebirth so OG FFVII is awesome, the size is perfect, but that price is yikes. I think the sweet spot would be $60-70 per figure, MAX, $100+ each is just outrageous. Quote

And if only I have lots of money to burn, I already bought the figures from FFIX earlier on. And I would buy if there's some FFVIII too. But man, the price they command is so ridiculous. Imagine the price on the Cloud and Hardy Daytona set, it's Y26730. That's already a Metal Build figure right there, an expensive one too if I may say. It's even expensive to the MoShow's Cyclone. At this point, I think the Cyclone figure is kind of a basis on how figures should've been priced. Oh well, that dream has already sailed. Quote

I want them all, but that doesn’t even give a chance to save cash between figures. Quote
no3Ljm Posted November 22, 2024 Posted November 22, 2024 (edited) New Play Arts line ‘Shin’ featuring VINCENT VALENTINE. Since they don’t complete a series, I don’t think it deserves a new thread. Edited November 22, 2024 by no3Ljm Quote

Play Arts pricing is already absolutely frakking absurd, can't imagine this being less then $200, SE just doesn't give a frakk. Quote

I just figure that there’s not a major amount of play arts items on regular release, that the thread dealing with just their action figures is fine. Wether that ends up Kai, Shin or even bring arts or whatever. Quote
Scyla Posted March 1 Posted March 1 This must be the most scummy release in the history of action figures. Square Enix is re-releasing FF7 Cloud and replaced the Buster Sword with a different one: THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCESSORY PACK SQUARE ENIX!!!!!! Quote

The buster sword and this one are the two most iconic weapons he had. They could easily have just included this little one in the pack rather than make someone pay around a hundred bucks mow for a tiny piece of plastic Quote

But that seems unlikely now. Quote

Tking22 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Doesn't matter, that figure is pure ass anyway, not even thinking about the absolutely horrid price for such a small figure. It's badly engineered, there's bad QC, it barely poses, it just sucks, I want one for my Super Smash display, but outside finding a cheap used one or seeing it on a deep sale I'm not paying the asking price for that awful little turd of a figure. Square is frakking insane for releasing this line in the condition they did, at the price they are asking. These really are literally, only for the most hardcore-weeby FFVII fans, these figures are awful, and that Cloud is a bad figure in general. Quote

Anyhow, after these all that is left are Chrono Trigger figures and I‘m done with Bring Arts. Hm, maybe if they do FF8 figures and G.F.s I might be interested too? Quote
kajnrig Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Consistent criticism tells me that these figures are pretty poorly-designed, poorly-constructed, poorly-everything, and not worth it - especially at the marked-up prices they're asking now - unless you simply MUST ABSOLUTELY get a figure in this specific style. I got the Bring Arts Xenogears figures before they started jacking up the prices on them. Fei, Elly, and the two Weltalls, and that was it. I'm glad I got them early in the line's existence. Quote
Tking22 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 It sucks too, merch based on the actual, original FFVII is few and far between, everything nowadays is Remake or Advent Children, there's even less merch of actual articulated figures. I get it, Square put these out at this price point because they knew they would sell, that nostalgia is a helluva drug, and they look absolutely fantastic, they just half-assed them in every way they could but the price. The full lineup, Reno and the Turks included, is an insane amount of money for such small, badly designed figures. The only thing they do is look good, I've handled Barret as well and it's about the same deal, looks good, not fun to handle or pose. Quote

I never bought any due to price, but had always been tempted. I guess I’ll stay clear for sure Quote
