dracphelan Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 (edited) I'm getting back into building Macross kits (~25 year hiatus actual model kits). My wife got me a Muv-Luv Alternative F-15 Strike Eagle kit at an anime festival that got me interested in doing this again. So, I've ordered the Hasegawa VF-0S Armored kit and a new flush cut nipper. Are there any tips or tricks you can give me? I am planning on painting the parts on the sprues and then touching them up after assembly. BTW, I miss the days when discount stores would have bins of anime model kits that they bought on a huge discount. Also, as a present for my wife, I will be building the Hasegawa Space Battleship Arcadia (she's a big Captain Harlock fan). So, if you have any tips or tricks for that one, that would be appreciated to. I have not been completely out of model building and painting. I've been doing stuff for miniature gaming the past couple of years. Here's an example of my work. Edited November 17, 2013 by dracphelan Quote
Berttt Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Welcome aboard. Do you plan on filling and sanding any seams where the parts join? If so you may want to wait and paint individual parts after sub assembly. Cheers, Brett T Quote
dracphelan Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 Well, The kit arrived today and is much larger than I thought it would be. I think I will go with the painting sub-assemblies route. I just will need to plan it out accordingly. Quote
