no3Ljm Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 Displayed at Bandai Tamashii Nations' kiosk at BicCamera Akihabara. Not sure what model kit line was used but those 80's mechas looks awesome. Quote
Bobby Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Those are cool! I recognize lots of parts from Bandia's 30MM kits (30 Minute Missions) ... they have a wide variety of styles / option parts and some already resemble existing characters from other series out of the box. Quote

VF8000G Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Is it based on this illustration by Obari? Sentinel loves Obari. Quote
no3Ljm Posted July 24, 2023 Posted July 24, 2023 Pass for me. Not digging the new aesthetics. I also don't think they incorporated the leg's inner frame to open up like the original design which the Hi-Metal R figure does. Quote

I like it more than the HMR on the sole basis of it not having that tacky chrome gold in its frame. Quote

no3Ljm Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 If the measurement is correct, the Riobot is 1cm shorter than the Hi-Metal R one. For its asking price, I thought it is going to be bigger. Also, BBTS has it for US$564.99. Ouch. Quote
no3Ljm Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 Since they used Takanori (Red Fox)'s garage kit design for the L-Gaim and he's supervising it, what are the chances that MKII will be next? I mean, it's a cool garage kit design. However, L-Gaim's asking price is not helping somehow esp for its size. I'm sure MKII will be more. As much as I would like to see their interpretation of MKII in the future, I'll probably just wait for Hi-Metal R version. They already teased it back in 2021 and 2022 during Tamashii Nation events so hopefully it will be produced soon. Quote
lechuck Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 Personally I still prefer the HMR version. Engineering and articulation on Sentinel's take will offer a much greater experience compared to the HMR, but I just don't like Takanori's stylistic approach. Those very wide hips and the generous spacing between the crotch makes the overall silhouette and proportion incohesive, the very angular edges on the upper thighs vs. the rounded lower legs is jarring, giving it high heels instead of the flat two pronged heel design is a distinction that gets lost for the Mk.II and the exaggerated chest clamps don't do it any favours either. lechuck Posted November 18, 2023 Posted November 18, 2023 So Bandai is launching this new project called "Sunrise Spirits" where they will be reissuing some of their popular mecha from the different Tamashii lines as P-Bandai. https://hobby.dengeki.com/news/2148068/ One of the initial releases is going to be HMR L-Gaim, so this might be a chance to grab a fresh copy if you missed out the first time. Pre-order starts 25 Dec. and release is already supposed to be in January. Quote

no3Ljm Posted January 29 Posted January 29 If L-Gaim is at 20cm (20.7m in anime), it's safe to assume that Mk II will be around 26-27cm (26.5m in anime). It's going to be big. Quote

Papa Rat Posted September 4 Posted September 4 Do any of you know if the 1/100 R3 MK II model kit is still in production? It comes up as backorder on HLJ which gives me hope, but that might not mean anything I suppose. 🤔 It’s hard to find any information on my end. Quote
Major Tom Posted September 4 Posted September 4 (edited) Many of Bandai kits on HLJ are on backorder forever. Your best bet is to get one on YJ or other source. R3 kits are out of production but every long while get a re-issue. Edited September 4 by Major Tom Quote

They sometimes reissue some weird stuff and occasionally update the kits. They’ve had some oddballs like the hg sets and older ancient kits and some from other franchises like the mg Dunbine from ages ago. It’s a bit few and far between though Quote

lechuck Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I'm weak and pre-ordered, because and already the other two HMR Heavy Metals, but yikes that 30k+ Yen price tag – that is sort of Metal Build territory!? Not sure what justifies it, honestly if anyone asked me which MK-II to get I would tell them they are better off with R3 model kit. Quote

Not sure what justifies it, honestly if anyone asked me which MK-II to get I would tell them they are better off with R3 model kit. I wasn't also expecting the Y29000 price tag. And yes, kind of like a basic Metal Build price. However, seeing that this is big, I only hope its diecast joints will last and remain sturdy. I already let my parents sold my R3 L-Gaim MkII recently back home which I just straight build it when it came out. I'll probably justify the price right now for having metal joints and already painted without worrying of paint chipping and scratching during transformation. And justify the reason why I bought the HMR L-Gaim back then in the hopes that Mk-II will come out eventually. After that, I'll rest my L-Gaim collection. Quote
Felix Posted September 16 Posted September 16 I ordered one as well. I have the other two and while the price was a little hard to swallow, when else will we ever get a shot at this one. Also, I am a huge FSS fan and this is probably as close as we will ever get to getting a Mortar Head "toy." It does look impressive though and I am looking forward to its release. Quote
