As a kid, I only saw a few in real life in a "not for sale" display case in a Japanese toy store one time. Those obviously were not nearly as nice as the current Bandai DX Chogokin series. Having just recently discovered these, I scooped up a few. I've always loved the VF-1S (especially the DYRL Hikaru version). When I was young, the armored 1J was a unicorn to me.
