Sanity is Optional Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Just now, Slave IV said: Yep! The process is really cool and the figure looks great overall. It's hard to say how much difference the multi color injection makes without seeing the same thing without multi color next to it but the arms are not multi color injected and I think the body and legs do have some more realistic tone and depth to them. Only problem to me is I don't get why they chose to put some of the multi color sprue connections on exposed parts of the skin where you can see the two colors. The sprue marks were a pain and many of them were unremoveable to me. The mold seam lines on the other hand were very easy to blend out. The new process intrigued me , which is the main reason I got this kit and looking at it on my shelf right now, it looks fantastic! I also wanted some practice with kits before I put the little canon parts on my PF SDF-1 and buuild a bunch of Star Wars kits I've had sitting around for years. Cool, I hope they keep using and improving the tech. I'd be totally in for a multi-color injected Macross valkyrie kit that didn't need massive sticker/decal sheets. Probably won't work due to bonding between the two plastic colors, but I can dream.

Yeah, the places where different color parts go together work really well. The only part I think the multi color will kick in for Valks is small multi color detail areas. The eyes for the Fumina figure are the best example of what they can accomplish with the tech. Zero paint required for the figure (unless I want to try to blend some sprue marks a bit better but I'm not going to.).

The Vintage Collection releases are usually retailer exclusives -- Target, Amazon, TRU or Walmart. The new TIE is a Walmart exclusive. 4 hours ago, borgified said: Crap... Looking at the pic that @tekeringhas posted, I wonder if the TIE Interceptor will possibly get reissued? They did so many versions of it during the years, why not an updated version? You guys really are out of the loop. Amazon exclusive, 2013. Also features the new cockpit module. 3 hours ago, Chronocidal said: What I really do wish they would do is give the Y-Wing a proper treatment though. That ship may have already sailed, I fear. TRU exclusive, 2011... and apart from a retooled cockpit and a new paint job, it's still the same old '80s crap. Having given up hope on an accurately-proportioned Hasbro Y-Wing, I've decided to make my own: The studio-scale Galactic Resin model kit is the perfect scale for 3.75" figures. Of course, as a limited-run garage kit, it's gonna cost you several hundred dollars... if you can find one. Or there's always the Master Replicas Y-Wing, but that one runs several thousand dollars... if you can find one!

I might have to track down an Interceptor, they seem to still be available on Amazon actually, for not too ridiculously high a price. I do remember seeing that Y-wing when you first posted pics of it, looks really good. I've found a few detailed photos of the Y-wing assembly, in terms of base shape and greeblies, so I'm actually beginning to wonder whether it would be cheaper to scratchbuild and 3D print my own kit than find a resin one.
Slave IV Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Today's Hot Wheels finds Looking forward to the Ur quattro and apparently, there are a couple more P-Cars I need to find.
Kuma Style Posted August 16, 2018 Posted August 16, 2018 Got in a pretty nice Figuarts Haul including a wedding gift from a friend at Otakon yesterday:

I don't think there's any question of that... especially if you have your own 3D printer. 1 hour ago, Kuma Style said: Got in a pretty nice Figuarts Haul including a wedding gift from a friend at Otakon yesterday Oh, wow! sh9000 Posted August 18, 2018 Posted August 18, 2018 Ordered the Marvel Studios First 10 Years Ant-Man and Yellowjacket and Thor and Sif sets for a combined total of $57.15 shipped.
spacemanoeuvres Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Have a huge backlog of orders to post but I happened to bring these to work today
borgified Posted August 20, 2018 Posted August 20, 2018 Just came in as I'm cleaning up my bedroom. Note: Also clearing out both the bubble and paper wrap that I've collected over the years of delivery from Manda, Amiami and Jungle. I shouldn't be saving it anyways, but should you need some packing material, no need to go out buy them as you have it stored away.

And I save some boxes and packing mats too, just in case. You know how much they charge you if you try to go buy some boxes and bubble wrap? It's highway robbery!

I have a major problem...I actually "collect" the boxes I get all my shipments in. It's another reason why I have no space but I definitely have a box whenever I need to ship something.
sh9000 Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Got Marvel Studios First Ten Years Iron Man MK VII, Hulk and Hulkbuster price adjusted, Marvel Legends Dock Ock, Carnage, Venom, Wolverine with bike, Vintage Punisher, loose Sabretooth, Storm, Apocalypse, Psylocke, and another HMR VF-1J Armored Valkyrie.
Kuma Style Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Huge grail in today in the form of the Konami Impact Models Series Lagann/Simon combo. Insane deal at 80 bucks as well.
borgified Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 @sh9000: Let me guess... The HMR VF-1J with the GBP is the one from Jungle I take it? The wrapping is the dead give a way. All the stuff that I get from Jungle has the double sleeve on the outer packaging box and you got also the same as well. @Decker: The 1/55 VT-1 is the highlight in your collection for me compared to the other 3 HMRs.

I think that’s a standard to some stores because some of the items I received from Mandarake had that double sleeve wrapping as well.

Couldn't agree more with that last comment. As much progress as they've made, there isn't much out there that holds a candle to the Big O.

It is my 9th VF-1J Armored Valkyrie. My 10th one is coming from Mandarake which will probably come single wrapped.
