Skull 001 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 So what happened to Yamato and is Arcadia now making the Yamato Valks? Quote
wmkjr Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Just got into the collecting thing since August. From what I read around here is Yamato shut down and Arcadiatook over and has some of the mold designs from the different series. They also created a new 1/60 YF-19 to go on sale in April. They are releasing a 1/60 VF-1S Hikaru and Roy DYRL versions that include a display stand and have a 1/60 30th anniversary VF-1J on sale. Bandai has a 1/60 line for Macross Frontier. Quote
skullmilitia Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Yamato is not the same Yamato as it once was. Team split off from Yamato and started Arcadia. MrK is with Arcadia, Arcadia acquired several molds from Yamato Including the VF-1 and SDF-1. The future is still questionable, but brighter. Quote
jvmacross Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I thought the 1/60 YF-19 V2 was the last VF that was in the pipeline from Yamato before they went bust......still waiting for a completely new Arcadia-designed VF..... Quote
Valkyrie Magnus Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 I have been out for awhile to catching up on my other hobbies! Quote
g3173 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Valk!!! Good to see some of the OG MW'ers back on the board. I haven't been on since close to 2008 but it's awesome to be back and to see all the new valks to collect! Quote
Kyp Durron Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I thought the 1/60 YF-19 V2 was the last VF that was in the pipeline from Yamato before they went bust......still waiting for a completely new Arcadia-designed VF..... I don't think they got around to even making the CAD for it, pretty sure the YF-19 V2 is all Arcadia. -Kyp Quote
jenius Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 As I understand it, the YF-19 project is a Yamato project but Yamato had commissioned a third party to do the work, the third party completed the work and I think they even delivered it to Yamato. The plans were then sold to Arcadia. Arcadia then put the project on hold while they acquired the Macross Plus license. After securing the license they purchased molds and moved forward. Quote
