Otaru Ikari Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Check this guy's Sideswipe, a little twist and the toy looks far better that the original transformation. HERE ! Quote
Californium Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 It does look better. Although, no little twist will improve that head sculpt. Also, seeing tail-lights on an autobots chest is a little odd, but not a deal breaker. Quote
KingNor Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 there are 18 pictures in that link, and your telling us to look for a "little twist" wich picture is it? Quote
Dangard Ace Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Someone's been surfing over at the 2005boards..... Basically all they did was swap the hood with the wind shield in robot mode. Hood in front and windshield in back, just like the original G1. Quote
MrDisco Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 all of them except for the bottom right hand corner one Quote
Californium Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 The hood is still in the back, ain't it? That's the back end up front this time. Quote
NERV Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 omg that is so much ebtter, the tail light look a bit odd but its so much better than a windsheild crotch Quote
Dangard Ace Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 The hood is still in the back, ain't it? That's the back end up front this time. you're right! It is the backend, I see the gascap. Oh well it still looks better then the Official transformation. Quote
Opus Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 I've said it before and I'll say it again, You can't polish a turd! Quote
Doktor Gonzo Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Yup, veery nice. But I'm a little confused by the subject line - will the Hasbro issue not be capable of being reversed like this? Quote
Briareos Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 It's actually worth buying now. But the guy had to have removed the hands and switched them. From the looks of it, it doesn't look difficult to do. Hmnn do you suppose they might offer Sunstreaker in this form of transformation and Sideswipe as the other? They are supposed to be twins..no? Quote
UN Spacy Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 You can't polish a turd! Boo! The binaltech series is one of the GREATEST carry the Transformers name. It's the perfect balance between modern vehicles and robots modes. Stop smoking crack. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Awesome! It doesn't look like he swallowed an egg anymore. Quote
Kamui 777 Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 He also had to sand down the trunk joint as well. See pic 8. Quote
yellowlightman Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Doesn't help that it was based on a pretty ugly car design. <_ Quote
JB0 Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 It DOES look a lot better. ... Can someone confirm that he's using his engine as a laser gun? Quote

mark-1s Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 WOW!! That really does look alot better. I WAS going to pass on this one, but now I'm having second thoughts. Decisions, decisions! -1s. Quote
eriku Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Can someone confirm that he's using his engine as a laser gun? Yep. Quote
Radd Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Wow, I liked the toy before, I mean it was ok but nothing special, but that one little change makes it a hundred times better. He looks so freaking old school now, like the Autobots of old! I must have! But why the Takara version? Besides the obvious increase in diecast, that is. Can the US Version not do that? Quote
Solscud007 Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Im with you guys. I was wanning on this guy but I dont mind the rear end as the chest. World of difference. I will get teh BT and teh US version of course. Quote
Gatillero PR Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 As I watched those pics, I wonder if the torso can rotate at the hips. If you notice the hole chest is in the back, an the arms can be rotated as well as the head. Maybe those parts doesn't need to be swaped. Quote
eriku Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Speaking of better transformation, I made an interesting discovery with Energon Hot Shot this morning... Quote
Hikuro Posted December 20, 2003 Posted December 20, 2003 Speaking of better transformation, I made an interesting discovery with Energon Hot Shot this morning...Attached Image <_< I've seen playschool toys better than that... I don't like the Sideswipe though...his legs and arms are just TOO THIN...but if he came with that cute girl on one of the pictures I'd atleast keep him in car mode... Quote
eriku Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 (edited) NICE! This just proves that 'Sideswipe' should really have been Tracks. I can't tell for sure, but I'm guessing this is a Photoshop job. Edited December 21, 2003 by eriku Quote
Jin_Kune_Do Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Hey All Im curious about something. The whindscreen and the Trunk, is that something you originally had to remove to transform? The new modifications (its does make a world of a difference) does that (when in robot) affect the transformation? Does that mean you have to physically move of each time you transform? Or is it a minor thing during the transformation from car to robot? -Jin Quote

There is a U shaped cut made to accodate the black bar. Otherwise the rear section of the car can't overlap on top of the shoulders. The only other issue are the switching of the hands but that's easy to do. Drew Edited December 21, 2003 by Briareos Quote
Jin_Kune_Do Posted December 21, 2003 Posted December 21, 2003 Thanks for the reply Now someone give me links to buy transformers (Altenators & G1 ) -Jin Quote
Hurricane29 Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 (edited) Try the Valkyrie Exchange, just ordered my Sideswipe from him, or Tam at Twinmoons. Both carry great selections, I only buy from the best, which is these two stores exclusively. Edited December 22, 2003 by Hurricane29 Quote

drifand Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 The mod is nice and all, but this is one toy that I feel the all-plastic Alternators would offer better play value over the Binaltech version. From car mode to robot mode, just TRY not scrapping any paint off the sides of the hood... mine's already chipped in 3~4 places. The irony is, the red plastics match the painted metal really well - and the metal parts don't seem to offer any better presentation in car or robot mode. So save your money and have more fun (or less stress, if you prefer) with the Hasbro version... :-P Quote

Doesn't have the same rich shine. I can live with a few paint chips. Quote
