NERV Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 i am watching an episode of outerlimits on scifi right now with a spacecraft named daedalus, could it be an homage to macross or does the name have other origns? Quote
Hurricane29 Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Greek mythological origin I believe. Quote
EXO Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 (edited) Deadalus was the father of the boy Icarus, who flew too close to the sun. the feathers on his wings were glued on with wax. They were trying to escape the maze prison of Minotaur Island. Prometheus was the titan that stole fire from the gods and gave it to humans. He was tied to a rock for punishment and an eagle would feed on his liver, until Hercules freed him. Edited December 18, 2003 by >EXO< Quote
batpinoy Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Daedalus, also created the LAbirinth that housed the minator. I believe he was a captive of King Midas. Quote
JELEINEN Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Daedalus, also created the LAbirinth that housed the minator. I believe he was a captive of King Midas. King Minos. Yeah, he designed the Labrynth and was imprisoned to make sure it was kept secret. Quote
JB0 Posted December 19, 2003 Posted December 19, 2003 Icarus died for not heeding his father's warnings about staying away from the sun, BTW. Quote
