Diverdown Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 [i ordered some stuff from HLJ. EMS all of them. No problems so far. A box or two may be scrunched at times, but the contents are untouched That is the problem I have! Sure the contents are untouched but the dang boxes are crunched! HLJ and others put the Valks into a form fitting outer box. So when that box gets dropped the inner box gets crunched. I can't stand that!!! Vintage toys, I can handle rough boxes. New toys, the boxes should be like new!!!! Quote
Etrigan Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 this is just another ploy for yamato to make more money without having to spend any additional money. And the 1/48 Max wasn't? It's not like fans didn't ask for this valkyrie. It's the quintessential DYRL? valkyrie and I'm sure they'll sell their entire stock on this one. Quote
Smiley424 Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I don't really care when its coming out, just that it is cuz I skipped the first Vf-1s because of all the q.c. issues, but I'll definately pick this one up. Quote

rocco_77 Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Thanks for the pics vt102 I think I'm going to have to pass on this one... Unless it comes with Strike packs... Any chance of that? Quote
1 VF-1 2NV Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 the rest of the 1/48's, i'll only pick up if i get a really good deal on them, like $70-80-...yeah its wishful thinking. I got a 1/48 yammie with shipping for that price B) ! Quote
Drad Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Did you buy it from a website or a private individual? Quote
Aaron Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I'm going to picking this up no matter what, but it would really make my day if it was packed with Fast/Strike Packs Quote
Smut Peddler Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Now.... this is what I call a fricking must buy!!! About time too!! What did you just say? I can hardly believe that came from you. What, are you gonna poop on this one too ? Quote
Myersjessee Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Hmm...this is the first 1/48 that I am suprisingly uninspired by.... Quote
mechatek Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 Damn you Yamato! Can not resist... must... pre-order. Quote
Hybridchild Posted August 21, 2003 Posted August 21, 2003 I couldnt resist either i pre-ordered it too, my first 1/48th is on the way, or it will be in a few months but you know what i mean Hybridchild Quote
UN Spacy Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 BTW....is this going to be Hikaru's VF-1S packaged WITH the Strike Fast Packs? Quote
hikaru Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 I hope they wont come with the fastpack to keep the price cheap Quote
Graham Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 As others have mentioned, the photo on HLJ and Noda-Ya web sites is just a photo-shopped VF-1S Focker, not the actual VF-1S Hikaru. I have confirmed with Yamato that the VF-1S Hikaru will have a red heatshield. Graham Quote
Lightning Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 must resist impulse to buy slightly red valkyrie! Quote
PC Valkyrie Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 This is insane. Common sense dictates that I should not get this 1/48 VF-1S in Hikaru colours, because I have the VF-1A Hikaru and VF-1S Roy (in both 1/60 and 1/48 scale) already. But the growing valkaholic in me is telling me that this is the only red VF-1S toy there is, except for the old Bandai 1/72 HCM and 1/55 Strike Valkyrie from the 1980's. Gotta get it before its gone (like the old 1980 toys)...or else I'll regret it... Do I listen to common sense or valkalcoholism? Tough one..... Quote

Weaseldancer Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 Considering I already made a Hikaru VF-1S, this is one release I can pass on. Quote
Kamui 777 Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 I'm going to be getting a couple of these..... Quote
Commander McBride Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 I'll probably pick one up myself. I want a Hikaru, but with the Max improvements. this'll take care of that. Quote
1 VF-1 2NV Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 Did you buy it from a website or a private individual? I got it on ebay ! Quote
Uxi Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 I'm definately out for this since I skipped the Roy because of its problems. Wish they'd resculpt the head (get rid of the seam entirely) but with Graham saying it's due out in October, I really doubt it will be. I can live with it, though. I got my Low-Viz via EMS from HLJ. Not really that bad of a deal. Box was a bit scrunched... but I open and apply stickers and play with my toys some so it didn't bug me too much. I hate it if it was a collector though. I think I'll try SAL next though... anything to lower the price to what they SHOULD be (similar to HK pricing = 80-90 for a 1/48). Quote
Jawjaw Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 Just a reminder from a discussion in the old forums, HLJ shipping is around $35-$40 for one 1/48. That puts the price much higher than buying from one of the local boys like VE. Quote
Hybridchild Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 If your in europe though shipping from HLJ and VEX are about the same Hybridchild Quote

Jin_Kune_Do Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 You guys think this one is real? Or a fake? -Jin Quote
imode Posted August 22, 2003 Posted August 22, 2003 You guys think this one is real? Or a fake?-Jin Real. Graham confirmed it the other night at a dinner with Yamato dudes. The pics are fakes, possibly even made by Yamato. But the toy apparently is very real and slated for October. Quote
