Lobizon Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Real Three-Dimensional Maneuver Gear. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm21159763 Quote
EXO Posted September 15, 2013 Author Posted September 15, 2013 I think this is the same one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUr452RXJgw Lol. While everyone is preparing for zombies, this guy is preparing for titans. Quote
Lobizon Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Yeah exo thats the video. Hahaha, like someone said in the video coments, " These are the people you want on your side during an apocalypse " Quote
Archer Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Yes, we needed a dedicated thread for this Gotta love the guy trying to make legit 3D gear. I actually think some guys a while back did some actual physical calculations regarding the G's that the character's experience whilst moving, and the legitimacy of using gas to wind the winches. I think the conclusion, and I agreed with the analysis, came to be that the sideways G forces would be fine while turning, but the rapid pace that they climb and fall would render even the most athletic human useless in an actual combat situation. Also, as for the gas powered winches, the speed at which they are wound are insane, and near impossible. Each winch would need a plutonium fuel cell (fairly large and not cost economical ) to wind even close to the speed that they do in the anime. And finally, the reaction speeds of human beings are nowhere near what would be needed to coordinate navigation, speed information, targeting, balancing, etc. that's required when fighting a titan. And that will be the end of my damper on this awesome show Quote
EXO Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Shoulda guess it was Annie... I mean the female looked just like her. lol. Quote
Marzan Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Very pleased you started this thread Exo, although I wasn't sure enough people in this forum were watching it to merit a separate thread. And putting Mikasa in her martial stance as the first picture was a nice move. Now we only need Annie's yandere smile. 2 episodes to go. Quote
EXO Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Two episodes? Time to pick up the manga! Quote
Archer Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 The manga is so far ahead and still, we know so very little about titans. I'm worried that attack on titan will degenerate to naruto or something, with hundreds of episodes. Quote
SuperHobo Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I'm glad to see this show got its own thread. First of all, it's nice to see another anime that both fans from the East and the West can enjoy. Another thing I enjoy about this show is the lack of fanservice, loli, moe, beach episode, bathing scenes, magical girl etc that's been clogging every season. Sure, some of that stuff is fun, but if we can cut that down by 50% that'd be great. Anyways, I also hope SnK doesn't go the way of other shonen shows/ manga where it ends up derailing itself into pointlessness. Like many have said, after these last two episodes it will be time to read the manga and wait for season 2. Since SnK turned out to be such a big hit I hope they'll get even more backers to have an even larger budget for the show. Oh yeah and max factory has my wallet by the balls with all of the figmas. EXO Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Yeah. I think Mikasa will be my first Nendoroid... lol. Quote
EXO Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Looks like Jan 2014 http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2013/09/04/full-attack-on-titan-mikasa-figma-preview Quote

I'm worried that attack on titan will degenerate to naruto or something, with hundreds of episodes. There is the risk that this series might not have a proper conclusion for some years, but I doubt that it'll degenerate to Naruto levels. I've read that the writer has the storyline including the ending thought out in advance, which is generally a good sign. Of course that doesn't impede that by pressures from the magazine/studios, he starts pumping extra arcs or side stories to rake in even more cash. Quote
Twoducks Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Great to see this thread. Awesome manga and awesome fight animations for the anime. When i started reading the manga long ago I never imagined that an anime version would be such a huge success. BTW, if anybody missed the preorder for the Mikasa figma, here is a place tha is still taking orders: http://goodsmile-global.ecq.sc/maxfigwd00203.html Quote
EXO Posted September 17, 2013 Author Posted September 17, 2013 lol... customs from other figma figures Quote

SuperHobo Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 Ah yes this thread was not complete without the crazy aroused Annie laugh. This thread needs some Sasha goodness. Quote
Marzan Posted September 17, 2013 Posted September 17, 2013 This one? lol. t YES! That's the one! Quote
Fortress_Maximus Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Great series. Enjoying it especially bc it is not predictable. However Efren needs to calm the heck down; anger management issues appear everytime he speaks. Quote
Roy's Blues Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 lol... customs from other figma figures That's why I bought two. I have a revoltech Revy Ordered at the good smile online shop. ¥11,600 for 2 shipped to the USA Quote

EXO Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 Awesome episode. Probably some of the best maneuver gear scenes so far! Quote
Archer Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Agreed. Dat maneuver gear choreography Quote
Frogze Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I just finished watching 23 episodes in a couple days... I can't remember being this thrilled by an anime in years! Quote
Lakan Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 This is a good series. Too good that it makes zombie themed series look boring! Quote
Marzan Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Pretty awesome episode again. There's a lot of stuff that isn't in the manga but it was pretty good and added a lot of tension to the episode. The preview really left me wondering how they're going to wrap things up next chapter. Quote
SuperHobo Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 For a second there I thought Eren was morphing into Guts from Berserk. I watched the latest episode a couple of times now. Sweet fluid action scenes were great and the neat angles made them more fun. Quote
blackconvoy_D01 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Happily on HULU! Just wrapped up eps. 9! Quote

Major Focker Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 i don't buy a lot of guy figures but i'm going to get that because he's badass. is this the first fixed pose figure from the series? or did i miss news about a Mikasa figure (not counting the posables)? Quote
EXO Posted September 27, 2013 Author Posted September 27, 2013 Fixed Posed? Pass... He is a badass... but he's such a dick! lol. Quote
