kanedaestes Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 So I love the new Lego Cuusoo projects and recently picked up the Delorean which is amazing, but here's a fun one. It just reached enough votes but I think there is going to be a huge issue to actually getting this into production due to Harmony Gold or just licensing in general but the Lego VF-1 fully transformable with Armored, Super, and Strike parts just met it's goal for possible production consideration. http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/638 He also has variant versions including Max and Miria, and the Skull versions from DYRL http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/84284 Another project that just reached their goals include the Ecto-1 with all four Ghostbusters http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/36088 and of course the main site with other potentials http://lego.cuusoo.com Quote
technoblue Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 (edited) I think its great that the project made its support goal. The other projects are sweet too, although I'm hoping this VF-1J kit can make the daunting home run and become an actual product. Edited September 11, 2013 by technoblue Quote
anime52k8 Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 As awesome as that build is,and several of the other projects on the site are, I feel like licensing issue will be the death of many of them. That said, if it get's an actual release I will loose my mind and buy one immediately. Quote
MechTech Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 This is a MUST for my family. Both my son and Daughter are into the Ninjago, Chima, and Galaxy Squad sets. A set of plans would even be great for those parts not propriatary. Thanks for sharing! - MT Quote
Chewie Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) Wonder what something like that would ultimately cost and if it became something they'd have to license, would it even be allowed for sale in the US? Edited September 19, 2013 by Chewie Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Wonder what something like that would ultimately cost and if it became something they'd have to license, would it even be allowed for sale in the US? Looking at the VF-1 armored Valkyrie I'd guess anywhere from $100-150 given the complexity of the design. Maybe about $60 for the VF-1 alone. Its possible to simplfy so it uses less parts so that would drive cost down. As for if it would be allowed for sale in the US? Yes as all it would take is to negotiate the rights from HG. If it was a design from mac plus, II, Zero, 7, or Frontier then no. Quote
J.T. Silversmith Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 I have been working on my own custom Lego Valkyrie that I call the VA4-Peregrine. I have been considering putting it up on the lego Cuusoo site. One benefit of an original design is that you don't need to worry about licensing. I have a gallery on deviant art if anyone is interested. http://jtsilversmith.deviantart.com/gallery/45823764 Quote
CoreyD Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Gorgeous. I would totally buy that if it was available. Quote

Even for licensed stuff legos average about 12ยข a piece. So unless this somehow has 800~1000 pieces (which I doubt, even with the GBP-1S parts), it's not going to get into triple digits. Quote
Beltane70 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 I saw an update about this just moments ago when a friend posted the announcement of a Ghostbusters set. I laughed a bit when the girl in the video pronounced it Maycross. http://networkedblogs.com/Tjrsc The Valkyrie is mentioned at around the 2:40 mark. Quote
Scyla Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Does Macross has a chance against the Adventure Time stuff? Quote
