areaseven Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 The World's End is the third installment in the "Three Flavours Cornetto" trilogy (following 2004's Shaun of the Dead and 2007's Hot Fuzz), directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The film follows a group of friends who stumble upon an alien invasion while bar-hopping. Also starring are Pierce Brosnan (Remington Steele, James Bond 007 from 1995 to 2002) and Rosamund Pike (Miranda Frost in Die Another Day, Queen Andromeda in Wrath of the Titans). The World's End opened in the UK on July 10 to critical acclaim (93% on Rotten Tomatoes) and will hit select theaters in the U.S. on August 23. Scream Man Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 This came out down here a few weeks back; It is my movie of the year so far. An amazing movie! Remember to Err is Human. Quote
electric indigo Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Shaun was a letdown in the second half, but I love Hot Fuzz. This one looks good in the trailer. Quote
UN Spacy Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Loved the first two...didn't know a trilogy was planned. Quote
raptormesh Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Caught it recently over the weekend. Did not disappoint. There was one scene with Nick which was well worth the price of admission. Quote
taksraven Posted August 20, 2013 Posted August 20, 2013 Seen it already. Not as good as Hot Fuzz, a bit better than Shaun of the Dead, so it sits in the middle of the "trilogy". Very enjoyable though. Especially liked the ending. Quote
Duke Togo Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 I'd have to drive 40 minutes to get to a theater that's actually playing this where I live. I am just going to buy it when it comes out on Blu. Quote
Phyrox Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Saw it, loved it. This is how you do a fun movie. Goofy, but not stupid. I had more fun watching this than almost anything else on the big screen this year. Quote
