Avatar Size and animated GIFs

I wanted to change my Avatar to an animated gif, but apparently the board has a file size cap for avatars of only 100kb. I'm not sure if this is was a intentional change or if it's just an IPB default but I was wondering if it would be possible to raise the file size cap to something like 500kb?

It's not a bad idea. I'm not sure if I'll do an animated gif, but I've been feeling the need for a change of avatar. The option for a good animated avatar would be nice.

I remember someone here had an animated gif for an avatar before I joined up. It was a clip with an anime girl adjusting her swimsuit bottom or something of that nature.

At this time, we are not going to increase the cap on animated GIFs. Our main concern is with regards to mobile devices. We have tested other forums with lots more images on our phones and we found the performance to be less than satisfactory.
