Falcon18 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 They could open up a box-art competition. There might be people who would do it for free even lol. Quote
Kurisama Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 If you're good at something, never do it for free. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Boxart competion, winner gets the valk for free? People are very creative. Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 If you're good at something, never do it for free. I agree. But the fanbase may not be pros and you might be able to find good designs. Never know what the fanbase can come up with and to what lengths they will go to to get something that they want or benefits them. Free valk idea's good too. Quote
xrentonx Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 That box really ain't too bad but where is my beautiful minimalist design that is only sold in countries like Japan or in Europe? Usually us 'Mericans get screwed in the box art department with our DVD/Bluray boxes with the floating disembodied heads and lens flare Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Knowing this was made to order, Arcadia should've taken advantage and made a "special" boxart. Three simple Tenjin sketches one in each mode, one sketch randomly placed as boxart so when you buy you don't know what sketch in what mode you're getting and then the crazies would have to buy 3 valks to get the 3 sketches. And then when people start demanding a reissue in the future, release a very limited weathered version with signed Tenjin boxart and sell for a ridiculous price. Arcadia profit. If you do this Arcadia, I want royalties! Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Honestly, the box would be better without the toy. It's literally the pose MrK took awhile a go on twitter. Even Bandai's product shots are in the least, a selling point. Quote

Falcon18 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 ^ Minimalistic design without the battroid, yeah. Sometimes simple is good too. I might agree that it will look better without the battroid. Still, it looks decent enough now. Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Yeah guys, Arcadia should totally hire you both! Na, I wouldn't want them to get profitable and go all Yamato again. I feel the snark in your comment, but regardless Yamato/Arcadia has never Had a "Good" box design excluding the Tenjin box. At least Bandai has a Set pattern with the renewals, so even with different colors the boxes all match perfectly. Is it so much to ask for a decent box? Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 LOL! in the end we're all just poking fun at all this since it's been sorta boring! Damn it Arcadia, why won't you take my money now and start charging, I want my gazillionth VF-1S fokker now!!! Quote
close313 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Speaking about that, who has the record VF-1S Fokker ownership here? Quote
xrentonx Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 That's a good question... I know I always buy a Focker however he is released...all the little knick knacks too. I'm definitely missing some stuff though. Quote
jvmacross Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Speaking about that, who has the record VF-1S Fokker ownership here? Guess it all depends on how limiting you set the criteria..... Quote
s001 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 We have box art. It doesn't look that bad. More interesting than the previous Yamato ones. Quite like it. Thoughts? Duuuuuuuuude! They had Tenjin. What happened? Quote
valky-001 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Yes Roy's VF-1S is the only type I mostly go for and it got to de transformable. still with this preference is sill hard to collect all its imitations types. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Guess it all depends on how limiting you set the criteria.... Soooooo much Macross! Amazing collection. I only have a v1 1/60, Revoltech, SD keychain, 2 unbuilt 1/72 Hasegawa, early release v2 1/60, v2 low viz and waiting for the new Arcadia 1S Roy. Edited November 25, 2013 by Valkyrie addict Quote
Gakken85 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I just have one Low Viz. That's all I need for now Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I'm sure we have people who collect only Roy's rides and have a display dedicated just for him. As for me.. None. Though I aim to get one in the future.. A low vis hopefully if Arcadia rereleases it (can't spend too much) Quote
senzan Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Box design (sleeve?) looks fine to me - it does exactly what it needs to do and it's certainly better than the Yamato boxes from the last half decade. In my opinion of course Quote
Kyp Durron Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I just have one Low Viz. That's all I need for now As do I, and I feel the exact same way, until they come out with the T.V. version. -Kyp Quote
YF-29 Durandal Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Too bad they didn't keep up with the Tenjin box art. I'll echo the C- sentiment but I'll also echo the sentiment that I take the toy out of the box and that's about the only time I'm really worried about what the box looks like. Yeah it's not good box art... THIS is good box art, well at least to me. Quote
EXO Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I don't like the box art but I like what it tells me... all the budget went into the toy. I don't really care if they put it in recycled a brown cardstock box thing with back print only. And you don't save money by asking people to send in free art. Now you have to hire some poor guy to go thru really bad stuff only to find one good art that's prolly not set up for print, probably done in 72dpi. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 I don't like the box art but I like what it tells me... all the budget went into the toy. i think the budget all went into the sv-51-ish stand. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Just got an email from AmiAmi pushing the release date for this into early December. -b. Quote
jenius Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Yeah it's not good box art... THIS is good box art, well at least to me. I thought that box art was pretty terrible. I think the only good Yamato box art was on their Turbo Custom Scopedogs. Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 (edited) Just got an email from AmiAmi pushing the release date for this into early December. Ouch. I wonder what's taking them so long though? Hopefully not too far into december for you guys Edited November 28, 2013 by Falcon18 Quote

Loop Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Anyone with pre-orders @ HLJ may want to reorder them and then cancel the previous order you have. There is a black friday sale on atm. Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 You can also email them and request the price change. Not a good idea to cancel a bunch if orders. They eventually black list you. Quote

Really, I never had a problem with HLJ. I mean it is all user controlled and requires no interaction with the sales/support staff. They also did not lose a sale at all because I re bought the same items. I did have to send a e-mail though on a metal build gundam I have on pre-order. I could not cancel that one as they had none in stock. Quote
xrentonx Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Just emailed them for the adjustment. Thanks for the heads up! Quote
YF-29 Durandal Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Ugly box or not I pre-ordered one with HLJ... it's cheaper than trying to find a Yamato Version 2.2. Quote
