skullmilitia Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I'm thinking there might be a delay, there's only 2 weeks left on Nov, We still have no finals or box photos. Quote
connor99 Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Actually I disagree. To each his/her own I guess. Quote
Loop Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I keep bouncing this back and forth in my head. I have all of the Yamato DYRL and TV valks, I thought it would be cool to have multiples. Now I am thinking I will be cancelling both the ROY and Hikaru 1-S valks because they really will not fit into my current collection. This is going to be a first for me if I do cancel them. On one hand I already have stands from Yamato that are pretty similar to the ones issued here, but they don't have the storage section and the more rectangular base. I also have the older Yamato release VF-1S Roy that does not have the option parts and I have official shoulder replacements without the knurled pins. I preferred the rainbow canopy too although some have had problems with it. Arcadia just had to make it hard on me lol. Quote
YF-29 Durandal Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 Because trying to get the right canon ocurrance between SDFM and DYRL wasn't confusing enough, Macross The First is the same storyline in it core of SDFM but with several new changes. At first I didn't like the new head design, but the new scheme really suits the more menacing look. This is a kit that can't transform? And whats the scale? Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Maybe we'll only see the box few days/a week before release? There's still about half of November left to go to release this. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 This is a kit that can't transform? And whats the scale? It's a custom non-transforming model, I think it's 1/100 scale, don't know much of this model, saw it at hkml.net Maybe we'll only see the box few days/a week before release? There's still about half of November left to go to release this. I guess we should be getting some info next week before getting payment request for preorders. I have a dreary feeling there will not be Tenjin boxart. Quote
Chronocidal Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Well, I guess the upside to having the Roy in bright white is that if it gets old and turns piss yellow, it'll still match the stripes. I'll probably just use the stand, and leave it in the box. I live in the desert, and even completely sealed in boxes, I've had stuff yellow just from getting too hot, or being too near an outside wall. Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 It's not Tenjin art, but MrK said it will be sleeved. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 In Battroid the "the first" paint scheme looks pretty cool but in Fighter/Gerwalk it's a red mess. Opposite. Fighter mode looks awesome, battroid mode looks plain/unfinished. Quote
eriku Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I just got a payment request from Nippon Yasan, so apparently it's still on schedule for release this month. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I just got a payment request from Nippon Yasan, so apparently it's still on schedule for release this month. Ohh, so that's what they mixed up the YF-29 preorder with, haha Quote
EXO Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 This is a kit that can't transform? And whats the scale? Looks like a bash between Bandai and GNU. Quote
Mommar Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Opposite. Fighter mode looks awesome, battroid mode looks plain/unfinished. That makes little sense unless you find all VF-1's to look plain because "the first" version actually has all of the same colors in the same places as DYRL plus extra. Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Ohh, so that's what they mixed up the YF-29 preorder with, haha Had a feeling that's what happened lol. Quote
jvmacross Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Which valk is that on the bottom left? Custom? GGemini custom Macross the First VF-1J.....http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=37248 Quote
grymg Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Got the payment request too. does it make a difference if I pay now vs. pay at the last possible second? Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) Nemo Mr. K 's friend, is asking for a photos of the roy box cover since it's being released this month. hopefully we'll get an early peek at the box today. Edited November 21, 2013 by davidwhangchoi Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I asked about the box twice, there's less then 10 days left in Nov. I need the box art in order to gauge purchases! Quote
Loop Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Yeah I'm pretty surprised it has not been shown myself. Hurry up Arcadia! Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 They just like putting everyone in suspense don't they? lol. Quote
Kyp Durron Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I cancelled my preorder, if they're going to be white like the T.V. versions, then I'm just going to wait for a T.V. reissue VF-1S.-Kyp Quote
skullmilitia Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I just hope they stick to packaging that matches each other. Like Bandai, I like my boxes to match so they could also be displayed. Hell even the 1J's box would be fine in matching white. Although I wish Arcadia could just have Tenjin do all the box arts lol. Would make the boxes have value in a display. Quote
Benbot Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I don't regret my choice to cancel my VF25A in order to keep my preorder for Focker's valk. No rush though. It would be nice to have it by Christmas. Quote
wmkjr Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) Let's hope for a Box art preview! Can't wait till it comes out! For now just comparing looking at pics. TV version: DYRL: Arcadia (old pics): Edited November 22, 2013 by wmkjr Quote
Chronocidal Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 (edited) Well, I'm still holding out for the old DYRL color, since I hate yellowing plastic. That old Arcadia pic looks like it's still the off-white, since the kite markings look brighter than the jet itself, but that might just be my eyes being tired. Worst case, I get another bright white VF-1S. Oh well. Edited November 22, 2013 by Chronocidal Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Yeah that old Arcadia pic is extra bright. You can tell from the yellow too. Hard to compare from there considering the lightings are different. Quote
wmkjr Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Yeah that old Arcadia pic is extra bright. You can tell from the yellow too. Hard to compare from there considering the lightings are different. You're right, it's hard for me to compare because of too many differences. I take back comparing and in it's place just looking at all 3 together because I love them all! Too bad they didn't go with a fixed photo shoot setting and have them in the same generic poses (at least the Yamatos'). I wonder if they did the lighting of the TV and DYRL differently on purpose for effect as the backdrop looks the same. To me it looks like Arcadia just used a TV version and changed the pilots and the head arrows since it's missing a lot of the markings on the DYRL or are they stickers?. I don't own any of these valks so I can't tell the subtle differences. Even post editing can change the way they look so the best way I'll compare is to buy all 3 and physically look at them side by side. Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 We have box art. It doesn't look that bad. More interesting than the previous Yamato ones. Quite like it. Thoughts? Quote
Scyla Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Can't see it because I'm at work now. Can you describe it? Quote
Falcon18 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Bottom is a yellow banner saying "Roy Focker Special Movie Ver." Battroid shooting pose on the right. Lineart of topview of fighter on the left. Battroid and a "1/60 Scale VF-1S" overlaps the lineart. Quote
charger69 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 One step closer to the Bandai's amazing box designs Quote
