Tochiro Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 http://www.robotech.com/news/viewarticle.php?id=496 Starring Space Pirate Roy Harlock! Quote
CoreyD Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I keep checking the date stamp up top to see if it says 1 April... Quote

Valkyrie Hunter D Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Yikes. Is that the black lion wearing fast packs? Quote
Einherjar Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 (edited) Super Robot Wars: Mackere Edition! Shouldn't someone finish That Shadow Saga thing before, apparently, going nuts? Edited July 17, 2013 by Einherjar Quote
PetarB Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 So this is real, seriously? I don't really follow Robotech stuff, but this was too strange not to click. Is this serious? Quote
VF-15 Banshee Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Do you think it'll be better or worse than that Transformers G1/G.I. Joe crossover comic? Quote
Loop Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 HG needs to stop. I think it's time to hang up the saddle and go to pasture. Stop frakking with my child hood memories! Quote
Duke Togo Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 HG needs to stop. I think it's time to hang up the saddle and go to pasture. Stop frakking with my child hood memories! HG has liberated us from the ignorance of our youth. Imagine if we all still thought RT was good, and knew little about the original series it was based upon. How sad would that be? Quote
Loop Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I guess you are right in a way, as I actually prefer Go Lion over Voltron anyway. I did find my way to Macross via Transformers and Robotech though. They still need to just stop it though.(HG) Quote
Pterobat Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I am very confused. Of course, that's nothing new for me.... This confusion isn't going to give way to righteous indignation, though. I want to see what kind of crazy bullshittery they come up with over there. Quote
jenius Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 It's just a comic... no one has paid attention to Robotech comics in decades. Seems like a good move on their part since people actually noticed this. Quote
UN Spacy Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Wait till Doug Bendo finds out. He is #1 best fan. Can someone invite him to this years's MWCON? Quote
azrael Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 "Robotech is one of the finest intellectual properties ever to come out of Japan, and we are so very fortunate to be able to contribute to its legacy of thrilling science fiction action and drama," says Nick Barrucci, CEO/Publisher of Dynamite Entertainment. Yeh....someone might wanna inform them of what they have before, you know, ...they get sued. DMY. Part of me feels bad for Voltron-fans. And this is why we don't do this crossover crap. Except for Super Robot Wars and A.C.E.. Quote
Keith Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Sorry World Events, HG now owns all your Voltron 'cua of a microscopic footnote kn your contract that they stamped on after you signed it. Don't worry, they'll do absolutely nothing productive with it. Quote
frothymug Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I thought this was one of those forbidden crossover threads that just hadn't been closed and annihilated from existence by a mod... And then I saw it was started by Tochiro. Bizarre, indeed... Quote
505thAirborne Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 And you thought HG couldn't get any sadder.... zoinks yo! Quote
Einherjar Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 It's just a comic... no one has paid attention to Robotech comics in decades. Seems like a good move on their part since people actually noticed this. The article hints that Dynamite might be doing more than just a crossover in the future. Then again, there was supposed to be a new animated chapter to the series to be told since 2007, and look where that's gone. Man, in hindsight Exosquad sure dodged a screwed up situation when that Robotech crossover fell through. Quote
JetJockey Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I keep checking the date stamp up top to see if it says 1 April... Same here. But at least it's just a comic. I remember a Star Trek/X-Men crossover comic back in the 90s I believe. HG has liberated us from the ignorance of our youth. Imagine if we all still thought RT was good, and knew little about the original series it was based upon. How sad would that be? I still think Robotech is good but I grew up with it. But what is happening behind the scenes not letting the new Macross stuff come out over here is a crime. I pretty much won't buy anything Robotech (except a Robotech series Blu-ray) until the situation is fixed. Quote
Benson13 Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 HG lives while true talent like the guy from Glee dies. What a horrible world we live in. Quote
antibiotictab Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Ha, "Taekwon V" or "Space Gundam V." Yunes and the others have never grown up for 40 years. ┐(´д`)┌ Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I shouldn't have clicked on that link... Quote
Mr March Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I'm really surprised something like this hasn't happened far sooner than now. An amalgamation/crossover of franchises seems right up the alley of a company like HG. They are in the business of exploiting old franchises without adding anything new or of any interest. This is a perfect marriage in my eyes. That being said - in true HG fashion - they are about 15 years late to the comic book crossover craze Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 If Tommy Yune's going to be writing this, I wonder which corny clichés he'll use this time.Who wants to take a bet that the main villian will end up mutating into a giant monster in the last issue? Quote
SuperSenpai Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 So my question regarding all of this -- why is DC Comics involved? Do they still have publishing rights (I think Wildstorm was the last publisher to put out anything Robotech-related in the comics realm) to Robotech? Quote
