And the gun has an added bayonet.

This scheme is also much more pleasing to the eye, to me, than the overly busy Alto and 30th versions; I have the Alto and although I do like it, the word gaudy comes to mind as an apt description.

I like my Alto 29 too, but yeah it is garish. I have him in battroid mode with Super Parts and am ok with it. Isamu's is the best looking so far though.

LOL, you will be here anyways on opening order night like me I am sure. :p

I am actually glad I ordered the other 2, now I can have a display of all 3 modes. I may even get 2 of these though anyway.

I will be here anyway even though there's no rush :)

So happy it's a web exclusive!

I find that both hilarious, and kinda sad. I guess to a point I understand Bandai's unwillingness to make more valks to sell, but seriously. At some point, they have to realize how many more they could sell.

You know, I wonder what would happen if Bandai just made everything web-exclusive? Maybe this will be a nice indicator of demand. I'd be really curious to see how a web-shop release pre-order total would compare with one of their actual production runs. The scalpers definitely are making this into a difficult thing to judge currently, so it'd be nice to see a number representative of actual demand instead of panicked scalper frenzy.

I don't have the urge to buy this one (maybe I should instead of the VF-25A) since I don't think it looks good. The different translucent color pieces make the plane look very busy. You have the blue canopy and fold quartz bits the purple lights on the wings and the green tinned clear bit in the nose cone/cockpit area (why are they not read since they are on the YF-19) and the green visor. The head only differs from the previous iterations only by the single head laser and for some reason I don't like the color scheme in combination with the glossy finish. It looks much better in the matte Yamato (and hopefully Arcadia) plastic.

On the other hand I would like to buy it so I send a signal to Bandai so that they can estimate the demand for their products properly and I have already four VF-25 planes in my collection. I think I'm gonna cancel my VF-25A and buy none of them. :)

Honestly, I might switch out the canopy with another YF-29 one (if I can figure out how to remove them without breaking them)

Sounds like risky risky business...

After a quick read of the topics of both versions, It seems that many people like this version and don't like (or like less than other versions) the 30th one. It's the opposite for me, I like a lot the 30th, and doesn't like this one, with those dull colors, which makes me think about 80's mechas. I find it really less charismatic than both other versions and I'm not a fan of heads with only one antenna.

But even if Macross Frontier is probably my favorite mecha anime, the valks are by far my favorites mechas and I'm amazed by the work of Bandaï on the V2 series, I'm not a specialist, an hardcore fan of figures or even a real collector, I'm not interested by the background, I don't remember the name of the characters and mechas, I'm just a guy who was dreaming when looking the transformers jetfire in the 80's and has always wanted a few mecha figures. So the important for me is the great looking and great conception (with a big preference for transformable mechas, of course :)).

Do you like this one and don't like the 30th because of any background reason (the 30th not representing an existing/possible variant ? For me the Isamu colors are as unlikely as the ones of the 30th) or do we simply have different tastes ?

I like the YF-29 because it's the current state-of-the art VF in the Macross universe and the design has really grown on me.

And I like both the 30th anniversary version and the Isamu. The 30th because it's kind of a Roy Focker color scheme and looks good and the Isamu version because it's freaking Isamu Dyson colors and he flies it (and its playable) in the recent Macross 30 PS3 game.

I've not played the game but is the YF-30 not more advanced than the 29? Just curious.

So far there have been no official specs for the YF-30.

So we don't know in what ways (if any) is the two engined YF-30 with its unaerodynamic box missile launcher superior to the 4 engined YF-29 with its beam turret, multiple inbuilt micro-missile launchers and swiveling engine pods.

FYI, when that turret pops up aerodynamics goes out the window too.

In the specs for both the YF-29 and Tornado Pack, it mentions the turret can only be turned at subsonic speed. At supersonic, it has to be locked in the forward firing position.

Been away from the forums for a while. Just saw this. Where do we get it?

Tamashii Web exclusive....soooooo unless you live in Japan.......merp. -_- you're kinda S.O.L. However it's not uncommon for some retailer to sell it at almost double the price.

Or if you live in the real world, there are plenty of reputable online retailers which offer middleman services and will usually sell this kind of thing with no more than a %20~%30 markup over the web-shop price.

What are those two images supposed to be? They're not loading for me at all.

These should be the images. They're from this month's hobby mags.

This is so demanding a battroid mode hand shake pose photo together with the Arcadia YF-19 when both toys are out .

Isamu's old and new ride together, will look so sweet.

I still find it interesting they went with the Isamu scheme next. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to make Ozma? Wasn't he more popular and certainly more well known to the Japanese right now?

Thanks IXTL, like Mommar, those other images weren't loading for me either.
