JB0 Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 I don't see how it looks like a VF-19. Tail fins are canted inward, wings are swept back, the slots that look like air intakes are tiny, and the list goes on... The cockpit opens the same way, but... But EVERY Hollywood fighter comes from Macross Plus!Except the one in Top Gun, of course. That was a blatant VF-1 ripoff if ever I saw one. Quote
Graham Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Hey, don't give Whoremoney Gold ideas, or they'll be retroactively suing the producers of Top Gun. Graham Quote
big F Posted June 24, 2015 Posted June 24, 2015 Hey, don't give Whoremoney Gold ideas, or they'll be retroactively suing the producers of Top Gun. Graham LoL the whole Topgun script could have been a Macross OVA. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Dunno, for some reason the fighter gave me a Yukikaze FFR-31 vibe more so than a YF/VF-19. Either way, it "looks" cool, I guess... -b. Quote

Same here, much more Yukikaze than really anything else. Either way I like this fighter, will be fun to see it in action on the big screen! Quote

Not going to lie, when I was much younger ID4 was a guilty pleasure. I cannot watch it now but in keeping with my youth I'll give this new one a go - unless the trailers look like absolute trash. -b. Valkyrie Hunter D Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 As dubious of quality this movie may be, I'm a sucker for large scale models of cool looking ships. That fighter looks slick, so I'll watch this to see it in action. Quote

Same here, saw it 3 times in Theaters and watched the DVD to death, my guiltiest pleasure on this movie is the deleted scene with Randy Quaid in his Biplane with a bomb attached!! I can only with Roland Emmerich as the director the film will have decent dialogue yet plenty of adventure! Edited June 25, 2015 by 505thAirborne Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 ^Yep, there will be plenty of adventure and destruction porn (as described in this thread earlier) for sure. -b. Quote
areaseven Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 (edited) It's too bad David Arnold didn't return to do the soundtrack. His score for the first film was one of his best works. Edited June 23, 2016 by areaseven Quote
Knight26 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Interesting fighter design, though those things under the wings are just, odd. Quote
raptormesh Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Interesting fighter design, though those things under the wings are just, odd. Yeah what are those? Nu/neo/new powerplants/antigrav? Noticed the same thing on the tug. Quote
anime52k8 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Yeah what are those? Nu/neo/new powerplants/antigrav? Noticed the same thing on the tug. some sort of propulsion system based on alien technology. Quote
Thom Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 The fighter looks damn sweet! My only grip is the positioning of the antigrav pods. Why are they hanging down like that..? I would have put them horizontal and imbedded into the wing. Or even remove the wing entirely. You have antigrav! Why do you need a wing!?! I'll have to see it in action. Definitely if they make a model of this, I'll be doing some reworks... Quote
frothymug Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 What if the anti gravity system fails? You also need hard points for munitions. Quote
ErikElvis Posted June 27, 2015 Posted June 27, 2015 I'm thinking the fighter has. More vf-2ss vibe. Looks sweet Quote
spanner Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 I can't say I was terribly impressed by the first movie so I reckon this is gonna be crap.. but I'll probably still watch it! mid 2016.. sheesh Quote
eight_car Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens' advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction. - Written by 20th Century Fox Using recovered alien tech to build up new defenses... where have we heard that one before? An unprecidented force - WOW, lets just keep on that train Only a few brave men and women ...like Hikaru, Misa,Roy... Damn, maybe they will have a lead base ship and call it the SDF-1 I hate hollywood at times...I REALLY REALLY do! Quote
big F Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Let's guess the lead alien command ship looks like a dug up tree stump. Quote
JB0 Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Pr'ly a big ball o' tinfoil or random assemblage of wires and hydraulics. Those seem to be the trends right now. Quote

ron5864 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Looks like Boddole Zer brought his main Zentradi fleet with him this time. Quote

Guest davidwhangchoi Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 just saw the commercial during football. looks like a good summer flick. Quote
Mommar Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 The first movie has always been a guilty pleasure of mine bit I never thought a sequel was a good idea. This trailer actually has me interested. Quote
