Guest davidwhangchoi Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 "It is a simple mechanism than you think. It may be interesting even put on (or magazine or WEB) somewhere" Quoting Mr. K responding on twitter to someone asking about the design of the highspeed yf-19 wings Quote
skullmilitia Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Looks like even the factory's send the samples in Yamato sized boxes lol! Quote
Mommar Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 (edited) So the mechanism is more simple then we think? Hmm. This thing is looking mighty done. We may be seeing a December 31st/January 2014 release. Edited September 5, 2013 by Mommar Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Nice!! loving this bird Although I can already see in 5 years, v3 YF-19 with proper folding and position of wings for high speed mode. I wouldn't mind receiving my valks in a small cardboard box with no design and all the loose parts in a ziplock as long as it arrives safe and cuts on shipping. Quote
Froy Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 (edited) This is not proper folding? There is a huge diference According to the line art, a huge part of the wing should be inside the leg thanks to the anime magic. Edited September 5, 2013 by Froy Quote
Reïvaj Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 There is a big difference: Magic vs. logic. Quote
daBlah! Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 There would be a serious amount of folding/splitting elements in the inner leg or the wing it seems, and for the size of it maybe that would be better kept for a larger scale? The compromise from Arcardia still looks ace. Quote
anime52k8 Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 Nice!! loving this bird Although I can already see in 5 years, v3 YF-19 with proper folding and position of wings for high speed mode. I don't think they're going to develop solids that can selectively pass through other solids in the next 5 years... just saying. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted September 5, 2013 Posted September 5, 2013 (edited) LOL!! my post was a joke but you never know what can happened in the future. I myself never would have imagined we'd have such amazing toys from Yamato/Arcadia. After the VF-4G everything is possible. Edited September 5, 2013 by Valkyrie addict Quote
Xigfrid Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 There is a huge diference Considering the line art, certainly. But if you consider the Master file, Arcadia's design is accurate. I prefer to refer to the Master File which is in general more mechanically correct, than the line art that always contains a little "magic" (I always ask myself how the heck did the wing fold into such small tabs in the battroid mode for exemple) Quote
Scream Man Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 i doubt Im going to do it much anyway. I never liked the HS mode. The best thing about the 19 is the cool forward sweep wings. Quote
Graham Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Anybody got a good pic of the grey markings on the intakes, so I can inform Arcadia? Checked Macross Mecha Manual, but they got it wrong Graham Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 quick link if anyone needs to cross-reference: Macross Mecha Manual http://www.macross2.net/m3/macrossplus/yf-19.htm Quote

Valkyrie addict Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 lol, can't get better details than with the 1/48 Hasegawa. Soooooooo Graham......does this means you have contact with Arcadia now? Quote
zzgundam010 Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Man, I really want this but don't know how I am going to afford it since I have a feeling this will be very expensive. Quote
Reïvaj Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Anybody got a good pic of the grey markings on the intakes, so I can inform Arcadia? Checked Macross Mecha Manual, but they got it wrong Graham You can inform them if you want but I don't think you need to. They already know about those markings: They are even panel lined. The painted resin prototype we've seen so far is lacking all the little markings. Quote
Chronocidal Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 I think my only nitpick about the paint is that the band of black on the upper neck looks a little wide (dipping below the canards) but that might be an effect of the quick prototype paint job too. It's probably not something I'd even bother to fix, but it looks funny to me with the canards being stuck in the middle of the black instead of at the bottom edge. Quote

I didn't notice that before, but now it's all I can see! Gotta agree it looks much too thick. Chris Quote
Chronocidal Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I do apologize for that. I do think it's amusing that they're actually going much more with the Hasegawa style for that marking so far.. the line art shows it tapering, more like the Yamato one. I think the straight one flows with the design better, but it might not be entirely accurate. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Like this? That's as good as it gets for the intake markings. Or just use the Yamato 1/60 for reference. Quote
Lupin The Third Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Wow this is looking soooooo nice. I'm trying to get out of collecting so much but this makes me want to stick around. Maybe I'll sell off my Bird of Prey and Weathered YF-19 to make room for this new beauty. Quote
daBlah! Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 https://twitter.com/Mrk_arcadia/status/377355983464304640/photo/1 Bit of a tease shot it seems with the packs on! Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Nice! already on photo session, it seems this birds is nearly complete, we might be getting it early 2014 Quote

Mommar Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Nice! already on photo session, it seems this birds is nearly complete, we might be getting it early 2014 That's what I was saying. It's as far along as the VF-4 was by this point. I would wager a New Years release. Quote
Scream Man Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 God I hope not. Febuary at the earliest please! Quote
skullmilitia Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I'm betting Pre-orders open in December after they get out the other two releases. But yeah Feb/March for sure if not sooner. They look to be about two months from opening orders. That looks like the official pics will be hitting soon. Quote
skullmilitia Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Display case sooner. Wallet later. Quote
Benbot Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Can someone tell me who this "Mr K" is? Not Kawamori, I assume? Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Nope!, it's an Arcadia employee who seems to twit and deal with mostly the Macross line, but he seem to talk a lot about what he eats, lots of soup and going to work. Quote
Reïvaj Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Can someone tell me who this "Mr K" is? Not Kawamori, I assume? This is Mr-K: Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 LOL at the tiger always staying inside the shot!! OMG, never seen someone transform so quickly and effortlessly a VF-1. Eventough in that video it doesn't show, is MrK the infamous white glove long pinky nail dude from the Yamato VF-4G transformation videos?? Quote
