Archer Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I can't wait to see how they work in the cockpit gimmick from the VF-19. I must say, I wonder if it's doable now that it's a 2 - seater configuration (and if they get that to work, that'd be insane!). Quote
Mommar Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I can't wait to see how they work in the cockpit gimmick from the VF-19. I must say, I wonder if it's doable now that it's a 2 - seater configuration (and if they get that to work, that'd be insane!). As has been stated before the YF-19 was never shown exiting from the top of Battroid like the VF-19. There's no guarantee that gimmick will even be implemented. Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 It doesn't seem very likely the battroid exit would be implemented due to the fact that the front half of the canopy would be connected to the front edge of the cockpit area which wasn't true with the VF-19 F, S, P and kai which had a single piece canopy. Quote
Astro_BS-AS Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 It doesn't seem very likely the battroid exit would be implemented due to the fact that the front half of the canopy would be connected to the front edge of the cockpit area which wasn't true with the VF-19 F, S, P and kai which had a single piece canopy. As far as I remember from my VF-19K, even with the canopy in one piece, It does connect to the "instrument panel", but it ends in a right angle. Maybe for the YF-19 they could arrange some form of panel, or movable hinge for the front part of the canopy?. And it would be quite practical, given that it´s impossible for the pilot to exit the Valkyrie in battroid mode without it. Mr. K know, for sure Quote
Archer Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Oh wow, didn't know there was this much to the canopy. I know it was never animated, but it would be a cool gimmick regardless. I can understand if its not gonna happen though. Quote
ReĂ¯vaj Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 It may happen because -as seen in previous pictures- that piece is already hinged for the fighter mode. Quote
Arthurius Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 well, this mold seems... absolutely perfect.... and.... extremely expensive...and probably will be the most sought out valk ever... aw man, and that display case, holy molly. If I had known a few years back of course that something this grand would be made, I would have traded / sold / not bought at least 3-4 of my remaining valks, where I have only less than 10 now. Honestly, this and VF-19 Fire as my two most awesome made valks ever (and leader, and favorite characters in all macross), each in a display like that on it's own, wow. Quote
Plasticgoose Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Hoping for better pics soon ^^ Where was this picture taken at? Quote
SuperSenpai Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 awesome enough ! Man, I'm not even really a fan of the YF-19 design, but that battroid looks pretty sweet. Quote
Mommar Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I want more and more info about this release! Or pics! Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 I want more and more info about this release! Or pics! moved convo over to this thread... yeah, glad you might be thinking of getting two, barring it's not cost prohibiting... Quote
Shaorin Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) if i could only find a way to justify the dear price... my YF-19 1/60v.I has given me so many damned problems that i just had to GORILLA GLUE the damned thing in FIGHTER to serve as a quarter-assed display piece, so i've really all the reason in the world and then some to find a way to upgrade. hell, if not for my pair of 19S, i think i'd HAVE to pull the trigger on one of these, for the sake of my personal well being, price/consequence be completely damned. in fact, this baby is looking better all the time regardless. so much so, in fact...AAAHHHH!! HOLD ME BACK GUYS!! I'M TRYING TO FIND A SLOT ON MY COMPUTER TO INSERT WHATEVER MONEY I CAN MANAGE TO SCROUNGE UP. I'M GONNA GO INTO BANKRUPTCY AT THIS RATE!! WAAHHH!! Well, I'm betting it'll be VF-4 level in price and I own two of those. Unless my job falls through there's a chance... I still don't want two of that scheme though. If only we knew there were variations coming as well. Quote
Kyp Durron Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 If they were to come out with a low-vis type scheme for this, I'd be willing to sell a kidney to get it.-Kyp Quote

xrentonx Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I'd settle for just one Isamu if I knew that they were gonna release some really nice schemes later... Quote
Graham Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Had a super cool dream last night. I was in the Arcadia showroom and they were letting me handle the resin prototype of the v.2 YF-19. I noticed that it came with slots on the lower legs. I asked what these are for and they said they are attachment points for mounting two more gunpods in fighter mode, meaning a total of three gunpods could be carried in fighter mode. I asked will they supply the toy with three gunpods, but they replied, "Nah, only two". So I said "you gotta include three". Oh, and Kawamori was there in the dream too, but he ddn't say anything. xrentonx Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Is this really a "dream" or are you being cryptic on purpose? Quote

Gakken85 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I wonder if any toy has ever been this speculated over before it was even released haha. Quote
GU-11 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 I wonder if any toy has ever been this speculated over before it was even released haha. It's only natural. (Sort of) new company, new mold, new management, new price point, fluctuating currency. Right now we can only base our assumptions on what Yamato did in the past, and from Arcadia's other releases like the VF-1S Roy. Quote

Valkyrie addict Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) The VF-4G has a lot of speculation too, if I remember correctly, most of it was centered in its price, gunpod or not, FB2012 Skull scheme, the fin on the head, transformation and battroid proportion and those stupid detachable missile pods before release. Very nice dream you had there Graham, was Kawamori just a floating head? hehehehe Edited August 16, 2013 by Valkyrie addict Quote

Mommar Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 (edited) I dunno, three gunpods? Might as well go all out and include two fold boosters plus attachment for the VF-11 Fast Packs and just release an Operation Phantom Sword version like in the Master File book. Edited August 16, 2013 by Mommar Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 (edited) Three gunpods is not wierd. The YF-21 had two so I think the YF-19 should have been designed with 3.Ok I am only half joking around. 1 for longer range, a smaller one for close range, and a secret third one in its legs that combines with the two cylindrical pipes stuck to the side of the yf-19 torso that nobody knows what they are for but which is really detachable pieces to complete the parts for a new weapon. lol These are most likely giant silencers that you can attach to the gunpod to muffle the sound of a gunpod shot so you can kill a giant mech from longer range and not alert other giants. Maybe graham saw a vision for future ideas of how kawamori can create a "MS 8th Team" show of macross where valks need more than one gunpod to fight effectively lol They are kinda going towards specialised weapons with knives (close range kill of vajra to pierce the hide?) and sniper beam weapons (penetrates by placing all the damage into single point instead of just aiming all over the place) so maybe that is where macross is going to be headed soon? Personally I think YF-21 with two gunpod is more sensible because the zentradi fight at close range and having a lighter weapon in each hand used at closer range might be advantageous because you can draw the weapon more quickly. You might get less lag in movement as weight is balanced evenly in both arms. Also In GERWALK mode for instance I can see both arms working with more freedom. One thing about the YF-19 is it looks kinda vulnerable when reloaded magazines. The YF-21 doesn't reload. If it uses up all the bullets in one gunpod it can just throw that empty one away and shed some weight. Then rely on the reserve one. Having less to carry around with you increases your speed and gives you more energy efficiency. Also the beam weapons in its wrist can still be used if the robot mode ever gets disarmed by an enemy. At extremely close range this could be devastating. Punch them in the gut then fire at point blank range to get a instant kill. You never really got to see Guld in macross plus do any flashy finishing moves in the OVA the way milia and max did in DYRL. Edited August 17, 2013 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker Quote
Kelsain Posted August 17, 2013 Posted August 17, 2013 No no no, those are beam sabers, silly. (null) Quote
