Mommar Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 It leans at an angle. It's more noticeable when looking at the back of the head while it's stored in fighter mode, and comparing it with the neck. Right now I'm forced to use the optional neck cover just so that it's somewhat less conspicuous. I'd like to take a pic and show you exactly, but I've never figured out how to post pictures on this site without having to attach them as files or uploading them to a website and linking from there (I have no registration at any of those sites). Oh, and aside from the tilted head, did anyone have an issue with the Gerwalk joint? On my copy, one of the ratchets on these joints is so hard to collapse. It folds out easily enough, but trying to collapse back for the final ratchet feels like I'm gonna break it. Even though I try putting in more pressure than I've ever used on any other Macross toy, it still won't budge. Right now, the only solution I have is to take the hip apart at that joint and reposition it in the collapsed position before putting it back together. But of course it's a real hassle to have to do it every time. I've tried shaving off a bit of the plastic on the separate "ratchet lock piece", but I'm worried that if I overdo it and shave it off incorrectly, I'll end up rendering the entire ratchet system loose or useless. The trick for that final Gerwalk joint is that it's at a pretty steep angle. If you push up and inward towards the joint it clicks in a lot easier. Quote
ArchieNov Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Thanks, guys! I'll try that. Didn't realize it was a common issue. Quote
nedragdnuos Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Well it seems its back in stock at HLJ along with Hikaru and Roys VF-1S's........ weird...... Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Link in case anyone is looking; http://www.hlj.com/product/ACA82042/Sci From there you can find the other Arcadia Macross products, and if not, well then... -b. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 (edited) with the yen to usd rate today, that's the same deal as last years yf-19 blk friday deal. (for US dollars) Edited October 7, 2014 by davidwhangchoi Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 with the yen to usd rate today, that's the same deal as last years yf-19 blk friday deal. (for US dollars) Basically yeah. I paid 26,568 JPY at HLJ, which is the $ 270 it's listed for now. -b. Quote
Chronocidal Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Ugh, don't tempt me to buy another one! I'm saving for Arcadia to make the Supernova ones. Quote
Mommar Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 If they remain in stock into November perhaps a Black Friday deal will make the deal more sweet? Quote

close313 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Any sweeter I'll probably get diabetes. Especially if VF-0D PO pops at the same time. - out of topic, when did the PO for the YF-19 come out? Shouldn't the PO for the 0D to come out a month earlier since it is releasing a month earlier relative to the YF-19? Quote

The initial PO for the YF-19 was in early October (I have an order acknowledgment from HLJ dated 10/4 and Hobby Search on 10/5) - certainly not exact dates but I know I ordered one as soon as it was available to do so. -b. close313 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Ah thanks, I wonder what's taking them so long. But that's for another thread. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 No problem and I'm wondering the same thing (about that other item/thread). -b. Quote
Scream Man Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) OK, so this is a bit random:i went to put the 19 back to being a single seater, replacing the shielded back area. I have tried to put this piece back in, but damned if i can do so. I'm vaguely worried this might be for the previous 19, but can't tell the difference. It IS a slightly darker plastic than the cockpit grey, so that may be the issue. Is that the right piece? It doesn;t seem to be fitting in at all. Edited October 15, 2014 by Scream Man Quote
Loop Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Man wish I could help. I put mine back in the box after leaving it in fighter mods for a few day due to space. My old Yamato one is also not accessible atm. Quote
Froy Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) Have those 2 handy now. Old 19 piece has a peg on the back, new 19's don't. New is a little bit more dark. Also the casted details are a little bit diferent and are a bit more sharp in the new piece. The one you pictured is the old one. Edited October 15, 2014 by Froy Quote
abbadon Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Yeah I think those are from the old YF-19. Took photos of the new part for reference. Quote
Scream Man Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Crap, yes I have the old one. I think that means that i have lost the new piece Dont suppose anyone keeps theirs as 2 seater and wants to sell me theirs? Quote
Mommar Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 For the future these are life-savers for keeping spare parts, adapters, additional missiles, etc... for your Macross stuff.http://www.walmart.com/ip/Sterilite-3-Drawer-Unit-Set-of-6-Black/20699650 Quote
Scream Man Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 i have 6 draws of extra parts for toys. This one must have slipped by me in the move sadly Quote
Pedro2k6 Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) Sorry....but IIRC there's was a method to fix the misaligned head on this valk...right?....or anyone one know how to fix it. Thanks. Edited October 15, 2014 by Pedro2k6 Quote
David Hingtgen Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I would like additional info on that too. I tried taking mine apart there, but didn't get very far. Would appreciate details on EXACTLY where to "pry" to get things apart. (As Bandai/Yamato/Arcadia all love to superglue stuff together) Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Same here. The head on one of my 19s is a bit slanted compared to the other and I would love to get that corrected. Quote
Actar Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I was planning to display my YF-19 in fighter mode on the stand for the first time. However, is it just me or is the stand adapter for fighter mode absolutely incompetent at holding the plane? For me, the front two clips will not hold on to the Valk at all... Is this a common issue and has anyone found a way to resolve it? Quote

Is this a common issue and has anyone found a way to resolve it? Chaotic Yeti made an adapter for the YF-19 for the YetiStand, the adapter should just plug into the Yamato/Arcadia stand. Check out this thread http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=41509&page=14 there are some pics of the adapter and inquire about purchasing it. Hope that helps. Chronocidal Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 (edited) Yeah, you're not alone, I've never trusted the YF/VF-19 stand adapters at all. They're mounted so far ahead of the CoG, that they really have no chance to support the plane well, and the weak clips just don't hold onto it. Edited October 18, 2014 by Chronocidal Quote
The Old Man Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Yes and right below a big transformation joint too so the weight at the back separates the sections. I think the stand adapter was designed on a tea break. The Yeti adapter is sooooo much better. Quote
Actar Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Thanks a ton for the advice! Really appreciate it. For the time being, I have used a pair of pliers and bent the two front clips inward and it seems to be holding up fine for now. As a temporary solution, it works okay, but I'll definitely consider getting one of those stands. (^.^) Quote
David Hingtgen Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Yup, Yeti adapter has a great grip. Quote
Scream Man Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 So I found the missing piece! now if i can just find myself the VF-11 Engine cover Im missing..... Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 Is it my eyes playing tricks on me, lighting, or are the white missiles, landing gears and their bays slightly pinkish? I didn't really notice until last week and I thought it was just the effect of afterimages from staring too long while spraying my 19, but it continues to look pinkish to me. Quote
Reïvaj Posted October 19, 2014 Posted October 19, 2014 I hope it's not some kind of permanent neuronal damage ! Quote
