m0n5t3r Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 At least the scalpers don't get your money... Arcadia does. And if it'll help them continue making Macross products and make more of your Macross dreams come true, i'll continue buying their products. Quote
SaitouSad Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 (edited) will definitely get one. My only concern is the price point. They've already priced the VF-1J 30th at the same price as a DX Chogokin Valk. I hope they can keep price reasonable. Also for some reason, the cad render reminds a lot of the VF-19 Isamu was piloting in SnT Edited June 20, 2013 by SaitouSad Quote
mqvu Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 This announcement is an awesome way to end my evening. Thanks Quote
GU-11 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 My wallet, is tellin' me no, but my glass shelf, my GLAAAAAASS shelf, is tellin' me yeeeeaah.... ... Ain't no way I'm skipping on this one. I just hope it's the middle or fall of 2014; need some time to save up some cash. Seriously, every other new collectible announced from now will be skipped in favor of the Arcadia V3(?) YF-19. Quote
xrentonx Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I'm very glad it's a ways off because my wallet could use a breather Quote
Kurisama Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 AAAAHHAAAHAAAHAAAHAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAHAA!!!!!!! <-- Maniacal laughter as I fantasize about displaying it next to it's Yammie 1/60 VF-19 brethren on my shelf. Quote
Tober Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 At last! So it's probably at least a year away and will be extremely expensive. Oh well. Quote
anime52k8 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I know everyone else is riding on a high right now, but it's starting to sink in for me how expensive this is going to be. Sonsidering with the 1/60 VF-1's that the change in company name plus decals and a funky stand equals a 6,000 yen jump in MSRP. I can't even imagine what 90% new tooling with minimal repaint value is going to do to the already crushing 22,000 yen MSRP on the VF-19's (only up side is hopefully it won't be coming out at a time when the Yen is at 75JPY to a dollar. ) Quote
myk Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I'm a little out of the toy thing. What does this particular version boast that its predecessors do not? Quote
skullmilitia Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I wouldn't mind more expense, if it was done right.. Extra set of wings with Hard points? Also if Arcadia is going to include stand attachments as they have with the tux valk.. Can we get a proper DYRL launch arm stand? Quote
CF18 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 It don't need to be expensive if they can reuse most of the mold for the VF-19 Kai. I hope they fix the fighter mode stand adapter this time - too insecure on the VF-19. Quote
usagiz Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I'm in, hopefully a web exclusive again?! But will it be short next the old 1/60 yf-19? Will the VF-X2 VF-19A be in the pipeline? Soo glad it will be out next year! (null) Quote
David Hingtgen Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 It don't need to be expensive if they can reuse most of the mold for the VF-19 Kai. They can use very little. Probably the nosecone, and landing gear, and that's about it. The later VF-19's, and the VF-19A/YF-19 have almost nothing in common, other than "looking similar". Similar, not identical. Everything is different, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Really, the VF-25 and YF-29 share more parts than the VF-19F and YF-19. Quote
kyekye Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Heck yeah!!!!!!! Now my old one will be on my hack/experiment table for my next project!! Quote
raptormesh Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Still a year away, but let the hand wringing begin. Quote
skullmilitia Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Yeah, suprised they don't throw out a VF-19 Skull Squadron or low viz scheme, before the V3. Quote
jenius Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I'm guessing the announcements are coming in the order of their ability to secure licenses. Quote
raptormesh Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Yeah, suprised they don't throw out a VF-19 Skull Squadron or low viz scheme, before the V3. Skull maybe, low vis don't hold your breath. Quote
anime52k8 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 I'm a little out of the toy thing. What does this particular version boast that its predecessors do not? Good proportions in fighter and battroid mode. plastic that doesn't frequently crumble over time, superior engineering overall. I think you could probably reuse the biceps and most of the die-cast joints.(knees, ankles, arm extension. although the amount of rage if it does end up having the same ankles will be hilarious). Valkyrie addict Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Don't forget chest locking mechanism!! They should implement the rear canopy eject shield. That would be awesome! Quote
SaitouSad Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 there's no doubt in my mind, that while being a smart move, packing the super pack with this was a way to bump up the pricing even higher...Kinda like what Bandai is doing with the VF-27 v1.5 Quote
jenius Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Yeah but the super parts are so inconsequential on the YF-19 that selling them separately feels so greedy. Even the VF-17 super parts felt like a rip-off and there way more significant than the YF-19 Super Parts. Quote
ps99042 Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Damn, just when I thought my Macross toy buying days were over... Quote

Speaking of which, do you think will they try to make the new YF-19 compatible with the Yamato fold booster? BTW, I'm so stoked right now that I just had to bring out the V2 YF-19 for display again. At least the YF-19 FP came with the foldildo justifying a bit the price, but the VF-17 Super parts ARE a rip off. Quote
Murphy Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Just when I bought the double nuts and bird of prey.....Murphy's law......well at least we have after New Years till it comes out. Quote

Not to knock on them or anything. I love that they're looking to do the YF-19 next , just a little worried about the potential pricing, if the VF-1J was any indication... Quote
Chronocidal Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 (edited) So... much... drool... keyboard... shorting... out. Hurts a little to say this, but I will probably buy one at any price. Possibly multiples. If they release the supernova schemes, I'm going to need to take out a mortgage. Edited June 20, 2013 by Chronocidal Quote
Cdisdope Posted June 20, 2013 Posted June 20, 2013 Awesome news! Is there any reason to go to Wonderfest now? Hmm... Quote
