r_hunter85 Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 I just bought a 1/60 Hikaru VF-1A and to my surprise has a backwards right foot. upon investigation...it indeed has two left feet. no dancing for Hikaru. This kinda stuff happen to anyone else? Anyone know if I can get a replacement foot somehow? Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 The feet/thrusters have no left or right, they do have front and left so they might be backwards, post a picture. You could pull the thrusters out and rearrange, they're glued but if you pull with enough force they can come out. Quote

r_hunter85 Posted May 26, 2013 Author Posted May 26, 2013 I opened up the thruster and checked out the problem. The ratchet for the feet articulation does have a front and back and has a screw that faces away from the landing gear. I try to remove the feet from the ratchet assembly but only the front was willing and the back did break. I glued it back together and reversed the feet do that it faces properly. But I had to modify the ratchet in order for it to fit backwards and clear the screw for the thruster pieces themselves. Sadly it does not work perfectly. It does go completely into the thruster in Fighter mode, but it does still transform and stand upright in Gerwalk and Battroid modes. It definitely would benefit from a replacement part, and I now consider myself an expert on the thruster/leg assembly. haha Thanks Valkyrie addict for the reply and advice. Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 The ratchet is a tricky to get right and if assembled improperly or backwards the thrusters will not align. This might help further Quote

Sadly, it doesn't fit properly back into the leg but it is not too noticeable. Definitely good to know on any further purchases I make and my eventual custom I have planned. vf-1a hiraku are pretty low in the market so it might be better to hunt for a loose one for a replacement as i haven't seen many broken ones selling just for replacement parts if you need super and strike parts here's one for it's 180, it's decent but i think you can do better even better if you wait. http://www.anime-export.com/product/14378 i'll keep a look out if i see any broken or loose ones Thanks David. Awesome website. Do you know how much shipping to the US usually runs? for EMS (that's their express service, it's the only shipping avail for a package that size for AE) is between 35-40 USD depending where you live. (shipping usually is pretty high so it'll prob by 220 shipped) if you break it down, the strike armor is worth about 100 and the valk is 120, it's an ok price, but i definitely would wait and look for better deals if you're not in a hurry. I'm never in a hurry when it comes to valkyries...its a life long obsession. lol 220 still sounds like a good deal. i paid 150 for just the Hikaru 1A without armor and it came with a bad foot. lol I'm probably going to drop 100 on a Kakizaki TV version on ebay in the meantime. but I'm trying to find a decent price for a 1S Fokker. Everyone got to have a Skull one in their collection and I love these v2 1/60s Quote
