yui1107 Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 (edited) Mr.K @Mrk_arcadia June.5 19:12ï¼JSTï¼ Being how much when I ask "Shoji-Kawamori" for that design and transformation-mechanism ? I cannot depend on him for fear of the cost-rising for consumers sales price because of the price charging his consultant expense to pay... Mr.K @Mrk_arcadia Hello,I'm "Mr.K". My personal merchandising "future planning hope" is VF-9, which I want to do by all means ! Profit disregard should become the enacted environment.... The hope is valid without throwing it away ! I would like the product purchase of our company of everybody continuously. Edited June 5, 2013 by yui1107 Quote
Jasonc Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) I didn't know this was now available for preorder from HLJ. Just placed mine. Hmmm, that said, I hope they re-release the Max and Milia 1J w/ fast packs, and finally get a Minmay Guard Paris and Moon act Valkyrie. I think I'd be able to say I'm done with the VF-1 if that happened. Edited June 6, 2013 by Jasonc Quote
Mommar Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I guess he enjoys technical challenges. Well I'd give him that. The transformation on that thing is ridiculous. Quote
danth Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 That tuxedo valk looks like something I might see while having a migraine. Here's looking forward to a VF-9! Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 That tuxedo valk looks like something I might see while having a migraine. LOL!! VF-1J 30th should come with a warning on the box: "Do not swoosh repeatedly to prevent seizures". Quote
cyde01 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 VF-9! if only he could completely ignore profitability, he says. sounds like he really wants to do it but it's really unlikely. with how much valks cost i must admit i wouldn't buy a VF-9, but if it does get made it'd be really cool to see members post their pics of it on MW. Mommar Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 He would have to avoid consulting with Kawamori in order to keep costs down too. Quote

Shaorin Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Can someone use Kickstarter to just buy Harmony Gold and get rid of them for all time? Cuz that'd solve A LOT of problems and get us things like PS3/Vita games and all sorts of other Macross goodies.. MACROSS goods would never, ever make it into the main U.S. marketplace, most especially the video games. it's all simply too niche in the western world to be providing any sort of real return for all that localization trouble. HG, RT or otherwise, none of this great MACROSS stuff out there would ever make it beyond the PREVIEWS/comic shop scene in the best case, so it all might as well remain the specialist western import that it all is... Edited June 6, 2013 by Shaorin Quote
Gakken85 Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Until they make a Live action movie. Then everything changes! haha Quote
skullmilitia Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Technically speaking, you could do a Kickstarter to buy the rights.. But.. I thought kit/toy/model rights to Robotech belonged to Revell? If the stupid board game can nearly get a million, opening up the rights To Macross/Robotech in the US would be a pretty big hit, but there wouldn't me much Of a return on investment, other then love for the Saga. I wonder what the price of retrieval is for the license. Quote
jenius Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I'm sure that'd violate some terms of usage on Kickstarter and it would be dependent on HG wanting to sell the rights. While everything is for sale if the price is right, HG has displayed no interest in ridding itself of Robotech. A more reasonable Kickstarter effort would be for a US toy company to reach out to HG, secure the Robotech license, and then turn to Kickstarter to get the funds to build new merchandise. You guys want your perfect 1/18 scale Hovertank? Well, we've done the engineering on CAD and the molds will cost $300K, if we get that on Kickstarter you'll be able to buy it for $100. Bonus, if we get $400K, we'll release the standard and space variants. Then you would show the sweet CAD work you'd done and see if there are enough fans to warrant making the toy. If there are you could sell it for a lower dollar value since you've already recouped your mold costs. It could be a neat way of doing things. Quote
logos Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Yeah it would. What I don't understand is why HG dosn't try to reach out to Yamato to sell VF-1s, at the very least, in North America under the Robotech license? You would think it would be a win win....Well I want to think it that and that it would be as simple as just changing the box from Macross to Robotech but it's probably not even close. Until that miracle happens though I'll just keep importing. That being said I haven't bought a valk in so long it was a no brainer purchasing the Aniversery edition. I kinda like it....but maybe I am just a sailor who has been out to sea for too many months! Edited June 6, 2013 by logos Quote
skullmilitia Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 So Anyone reached out to HG... Ever? Seems like a one off toy wouldn't be hard as long as they got a Licensing cut? Makes me think.., Quote
Valkyrie addict Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Nah, HG recent Robotech failure would only make them more greedy to profit on Macross recent success to try and get a big cut out a possible deal. Anyway, before the mods come in, there's already a thread for the whole HG vs Big West debate. I'm not digging the white option parts, is like they saw we all wanted them and they just took leftovers and put them in the pictures so everyone would shut up. I wonder if they are TV or DYRL white?, I would use them on my other VF-1's since I'll probably keep the 30th in fighter mode in it's stand. Edited June 6, 2013 by Valkyrie addict Quote

If HG were to reach out to "Arcadia" now about the VF-1's it's possible they could reach out about other Macross items and have enough combined fans for something like the Monster to be feasible cost wise (yeah right, the Robotech fans whine about things costing $60 already.) Reïvaj Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 HG? The issue isn't that it's TV white, the issue is that the inside of the chest pieces are both black so it would make sense for the covers to also be black. Quote

Vi-RS Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 IMO the side covers in dark gray look good on every VF-1 scheme. Quote
xrentonx Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 I agree! White is my least favorite if the choice was black, grey, or white. Quote
Nerd-linger Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Just messing around in Photoshop to see what it might look like naked. Other than the show logos I'm not sure what else will be a decal. It would be nice to see an official image of what it will look like right out of the box. Quote

Scyla Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I guess it will be something between image 2 and 3. I assume that the 30th anniversary logo will be printed on because there is a similar logo on the arms that is show on the underside of the plane. If those logos would be decals they might be damaged to easily during transformation and posing. Quote
Vi-RS Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I've finally realized that the tuxedo suit is actually a B&W macross kite after removing the huge 30th ann logo. Quote
EXO Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I'm wondering if it'll even come with the multicolor stripes on there. I'm guessing black, white and maybe red at the most. Quote
Gakken85 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 It looks decent without all the stickers and crap. If it didn't have the blue stripes it might be fairly attractive. Quote
troyness Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I,m hoping for the 4th picture, without the kite, but I know that,s prob not the case , but in fighter mode the 4th pic looks great. Quote
Mommar Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 I think without the Macross, 30th Anniversary and logo it really lacks something. Otherwise, looks good. Quote
anime52k8 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Honestly, with no markings and the tri-color stripes it looks really good. If the final product looks like that I'll probably pick one up. I would want to throw on the "VF-1 VALKYRIE SINCE 1982" text on the legs because that looks awesome. Quote
jvmacross Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) Get rid of the 1993 Camaro Indy 500 pace car stripes.....eliminate all the decals....eliminate the 30th logo....then paint those VF-1Js in red and blue schemes with matching fast packs....crazy right? Edited June 10, 2013 by jvmacross Quote
Gakken85 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Yeah, I kind of dig the implied logo in the middle without the sticker. But I'm a minimalist. Quote
