It was a bitter sweet series (now season) finale.

After a pretty lackluster Season 6, it was fun to see the crew back for this final season.

Hopefully, they can knock this one out and end on a high note.

If you’re into film noir, internal monologues, and a hard nose detective story filmed in black and white, then this week’s episode would have hit all those buttons.

Been a fun season so far.

And at the very least, they’re killing it with the period-specific title cards!

Seriously, the graphics design team must be enjoying themselves:

They even had the standard red Marvel beginning tag fade to grey start the episode proper!

They went all-in on the 70’s style TV show opening credits: 

I’ve been enjoying the season, but wonder when they’re gonna start revealing and resolving some of the character problems.

Not a bad way to end the series.

It was kinda meta in how the characters have this tight, unbreakable bond.  But you grow, you change, situations and circumstances shift, and life goes on.

Also, considering they wrapped up filming the finale over a year ago,

it's kinda trippy how timely and uncannily relevant they were with that final holographic Zoom meeting with the SHIELD team.

It's been a fun 7-year ride watching this show, getting to know these characters, hearing all that snappy and silly dialogue, and seeing how these writers pulled off some crazy ideas.

Besides any show that has the gall to

strap a bunch of killer robots to missiles using DUCT TAPE and make a snide inside joke in their finale about all the budget-saving dark hallway shots they did the past few years

earns a tip of the cap and stupid grin from me.
